Pantech is not the leading mobile phone brand in the world, but there’s no doubt in it that they are working really hard to attain a proper place in the smartphone market. First they were known as a maker of low-end or mid-end Android phones, but then we recently saw the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
We know that South Korea is the home of Samsung, one of the leading brands in the world, so it’s not going to be easy for the Vega R3 to take on the Note II. However, it comes with a 5.3 inch HD display, Android 4.0.4, a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera for video chatting, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 2,600 mAh battery. Though it’s running on Ice Cream Sandwich, but we can expect a Jelly Bean update anytime soon.
It will be released in South Korea by all the major carriers, but the sad thing is we don’t know when it will hit other markets, especially US. So let’s hope Pantech will also launch this masterpiece in US and UK markets as well.
