Samsung’s Galaxy S20 lineup is anchored by the biggest model, the Galaxy S20 Ultra. And thanks to Black Friday deals, it’s deeply discounted, a full $250 off its original price at Amazon. While it’s still expensive, at $1150 it’s much more palatable — and that’s a great price for one of Samsung’s biggest and best phones. It’s one of the best Amazon Black Friday deals available.
Samsung has regularly reduced the price of the Galaxy S20 lineup as it’s gotten older, but the discounts have never dipped this low — that’s why Black Friday is the perfect time to jump on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Even though the phone’s now several months old, it still represents Samsung’s best tech. With a beautiful 6.8-inch OLED display, excellent metal-and-glass design, and a quad-camera array that takes both detailed photos and incredible zoom shots, there’s a lot to love here.
Even though the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra offers many of the same features, you may not be too interested in paying extra for the S Pen — and the S20 Ultra is a great choice instead. As we said in our Galaxy S20 Ultra review, the phone seriously impresses with its combination of specs, hardware, camera capabilities, and powerful software. And it’s only gotten better over the course of the year, thanks to Samsung’s software updates. And because it’s the company’s top-of-the-line phone, it’s going to continue to get updates for a couple more years — no buyer’s remorse here.
I understand that even with a discount, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is a bit steeply-priced. But you don’t have to leave the Samsung ecosystem to get a solid phone at a great price — the Galaxy S20 FE is only $550 for Black Friday. It’s almost as big as the S20 Ultra, and nearly as powerful, and even runs the same software. But it of course takes a step down in camera performance and hardware quality, but perhaps you’d be okay with that trade-off to spend half as much on a phone.
