Yamaha YAS-207 Review

If you are looking for an affordable way to get a theater-like audio experience the Yamaha YAS-207 soundbar is the one you should check.

There are six speakers built into the soundbar plus and extremely precise 6.25” wireless subwoofer which gives a nice touch to the overall listening experience.

One of the most important features a soundbar should have is the surround sound simulation. If you like watching movies in your home theater you will agree that the surround sound makes the overall experience much better. And this is where the YAS-207 soundbar does its job perfectly well. It uses DTS Virtual:X which adds some width and depth to the sound and the Clear Voice feature makes the dialogues much better and prioritizes them over the other audio effects. AudioReputation has listed the YAS-207 soundbar as one of the best soundbars recommended for Samsung TV so it’s definitely worth taking a closer look at this soundbar.

You can use a Bluetooth connection to connect your YAS-207 soundbar to the devices you have. In some cases, the Bluetooth connection affects the audio quality, but in the case of the YAS-207 soundbar the bass and treble are boosted so the audio keeps the quality.

The YAS-208 supports HDR pass through and 4k HDMI connection, so the quality of your Blu-Ray player will remain intact. The optical output is still the simplest way to connect your soundbar with the TV so feel free to use an optical cable.

The auxiliary input is a good option to connect your headphones or any other audio device with 3.5mm connection.

The remote that comes with the soundbar is very good and in case you can’t find it there is the Yamaha’s free Home Theater Controller app. It can be easily installed on your smartphone and you can easily control the volume, sound modes and inputs.

The remote of the YAS-207 soundbar is very well designed. The size is just right, the rubber buttons seem durable and they are positioned perfectly well.  One thing you can find in the app but which isn’t available on the remote is the ability to switch between surround modes. However, there is an option to control the volume of the subwoofer and the soundbar separately.

If you buy the YAS-207 from an authorized retailer you will get a two-year warranty which is great because for most products on the market you get one-year warranty. Also, if you need any support for any issues that may occur, you can contact them via email, phone or live char. According to our experience you will quickly get a reply and help to solve the problem.

Is the YAS-207 worth the investment?

Well, if we take into account the surround sound simulation codec which really make you feel like you are watching a movie at the theatre, the connectivity options, prolonged warranty and the awesome support, then this soundbar is definitely worth the money. Of course, it would be better if it supported Wi-Fi connectivity instead of just Bluetooth, but we hope to see that in the next model.
