1984 represents the year when the first Poker AI software known as Orac was created to compete in the WSOP. In 1997, the UoA went ahead and released Loki, another AI, yet this one focused on Texas Hold’em variations. In 2003, Poker AI developers also began shifting from the chess methodology model that was adopted in the past. 2006 represented the start of the annual computer poker competition. Years passed, and in 2009, Sartres, one of the most advanced poker AIs of its time was launched, followed by Cepheus in 2015. DeepStack then appeared in 2017, alongside with a mysterious AI from CMU, both of each managed to bear some of the world’s best poker players.
