CyanogenMod Founder Steve Kondik bids farewell to Samsung, briefly praises Galaxy S4

Share

Steve “Cyanogen” Kondik announced today via Google+ that he would be parting ways with Samsung. The Android icon took an engineering job with the Mobile giant about 18 months ago, and has now said that he has “decided to do something new”.

In the post on G+, Kondik took some time to offer up thoughts on the new Galaxy S4, saying that it “feels quite a bit more solid than the S3″, and also stated the the new TouchWiz UI “feels like it has been send a few years back in time to the Froyo days”. However, he offset this comment by saying the UI is “more consistent”, and also took one further opportunity to praise the S4, saying “specwise, this device blows the competition out of the water”.

Concerning his departure from Samsung, Kondik doesn’t offer up much, simply stating that his leaving isn’t “because of anything in particular”, but said that “Samsung was Great. Just decided to do something new.”
