Archos is a known brand in US for making affordable tablets with an attractive design and competitive features. Today, they announced the Archos 101 XS2 – a successor to the Archos 101 XS we reviewed last year. Although the design of the tablet is same as the predecessor, but there are changes under the hood.
It features a Quad-core 1.6GHz A9 processor, Quad-core GPU Mali 400 MP4, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 2GB of RAM, 2 MP camera on the front and back as well, 16GB of internal storage space and a microSD card slot, let you increase the space up to 64GB. What else is new is the dual-band WiFi (2.4 and 5GHz), then there is WiFi Direct, Bluetooth, GPS, HDMI, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pair of front-facing speakers.
It comes with a full chiclet keyboard, which works as a protective cover and a stand as well. Also OfficeSuite Pro 6 is included, which means you can create and watch Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files on the tablet. It will be available in December with a price tag of $279.
