We may have to wait until fall to see an Optimus G2 announcement but that doesn’t mean LG is sitting around twiddling their thumbs.  Word of an Optimus G Pro has made its way online, hinting that a big, beautiful smartphone experience could be right around the corner.

Details picked up by a number of sources include the following:

  • 5-inch 1920 x 1080 p display
  • Android Jelly Bean
  • 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage
  • 13-megapixel camera
  • 2.4-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3000mAh battery
  • 4G LTE
  • 139 x 70 x 10.1mm

Seeing as how the Optimus G Pro is already tied to NTT DoCoMo, the phone includes One-Seg and NOTTV support. This is the sort of handset that we’d like to see LG announce at Mobile World Congress, a bigger refresh of its current flagship. We’ll find out in a few weeks if this is going to be the on company’s agenda in Barcelona.

For what it’s worth, the details here closely match up with the stuff in earlier Optimus G2 rumors. Perhaps that one will be even more special, eh?
