These are the best cases to protect your new Galaxy S20

The best Galaxy S20 cases protect one of the most beautiful phones ever made, which is made of slippery metal and scratchable glass. If you’re worried about scratching up that new investment, there’s no time like the present to grab yourself a great case to protect your shiny new flagship when your order shows up.

Mesmerizing colors

Caseology Parallax

Staff pick

caseology-parallax-galaxy-20-aqua-green.

  • $14 at Amazon

This hybrid honey of a case has a lot in common with the Spigen Neo Hybrid, but it’s got better color combos for that great protection, including a new teal “Aqua Green” that is even more alluring in person than the renders do justice.

Get a grip

Spigen Liquid Air

spigen-liquid-air-black-galaxy-s20.jpg

  • $12 at Amazon

Keep your carbon fiber classics and give me the Liquid Air any day of the week. The diamond pattern covering the back is just deep enough to add a real grip while still feeling slim and sleek in the hand.

Durable and diamond clear

Ringke Fusion X

ringke-fusion-x-black-galaxy-s20.png

  • $10 at Amazon
  • $13 at Walmart

The Fusion X is one of those cases you’ll either love or hate the second you see it. I love it, and if you do, too, this rugged clear case will give you a distinct look and some beefy corner air cushions.

Pick a color, any color

Tech21 Studio Color

tech21-studio-color-case-galaxy-s20-crop

  • $30 at Amazon

Cloud Blue and Cloud Pink are solid color options for the S20, but if you want to get even bolder, this thin, flexible case comes in six vibrant colors and can help your S20 withstand 8-foot falls. It also has anti-microbial properties.

Sturdy yet beautiful

Spidercase Protective

spidercase-s20-purple-clear-case.png

This multi-stage case holds your S20 in with a sturdy front frame that does not have a built-in screen protector so that it won’t interfere with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. I also love this color, as it beats the tar out of boring black cases any day of the week.

$14 at Amazon

Fabulous first-party option

Leather Back Cover

samsung-leather-cover-galaxy-s20-press.j

  • $50 at Amazon

Samsung’s leather cases are made with genuine leather, with a soft microfiber lining and aluminum buttons. While the S20 only comes in four colors, this leather case comes in six, including a very vibrant red and neutral brown.

Icy cool clear case

UAG Plasma Series

uag-plasma-series-ash-galaxy-s20.png

  • $40 at Amazon
  • $40 at Best Buy
  • $40 at Walmart

This is one of the sturdiest clear cases around for the S20, with a sturdy clear brace across the back and a varied honeycomb pattern that add some etra grip and excitement to this rugged beauty.

Affordable protection

Supcase UB Pro

spcase-ub-pro-s20-case-black.png

  • $20 at Amazon
  • From $20 at Walmart

Supcase’s Unicorn Beetle line delivers on quality and price year after year. The Pro features a kickstand on the back and uses a front bracket to keep your phone in place and protected more than a TPU bumper alone.

You’ll forget it’s there

Totallee Thin

totallee-thin-galaxy-s20-case-clear.png

  • $35 at Amazon

Totallee is one of the biggest names in ultra-thin cases, because year after year, time after time, it delivers an almost invisible case. The black case is a tiny bit thinner and more rigid while the clear case is a softer TPU.

Rough and tumble

ArmadilloTek Vanguard Series

armadillotek-vanguard-red-s20-case.png

  • $19 at Amazon

These Texan-born cases have been loyal heavy-duty cases for the last two generations of Samsung flagships, and they’re back again for the S20. I love the big sturdy kickstand on this case because it works in portrait or landscape and I can use it as a basic grip.

Flexible grip

ESR Essential Zero

esr-essential-zero-galaxy-s20-clear-case

  • $8 at Amazon

This slim silicone case lets you show off that subtle glow on your Cloud Pink or Cloud Blue S20 while keeping it from getting scratched or scuffed. It also adds some much-needed grip so you don’t drop your new flagship.

Name-brand durability

OtterBox Symmetry Series

otterbox-symmetry-series-sapphire-galaxy

  • $50 at Amazon
  • $50 at Best Buy

OtterBox is quite possibly the most recognizable name in durable phone cases, and make no mistake, you pay for that legacy. You also get a sturdy case in a deep alluring blue that puts the TARDIS to shame.

Stylish carry-all

Snakehive Vintage Leather Wallet

snakehive-vintage-leather-s20-bottle-gre

  • $38 at Amazon

Wrapped in European full-grain nubuck leather, Snakehive’s wallet cases feel better than Samsung’s first-party leather cases, at least in my humble opinion. You can also find them in more colors, including a lovely new Teal that replaces the older Honey Gold we saw last year.

Scratch guard

Kqimi Ultra Thin

kqimi-s20-green-thin-case-render.png

If you don’t think you need a case because you never drop your phone, at least consider the Kqimi case for some scratch protection and added grip. As a thin hard-shell case, it won’t add any bulk to your phone while shielding that glass back from scuffs.

$11 at Amazon

Gorgeous pattern

Tech21 Studio Design

tech21-studio-design-galaxy-s20-cropped.

  • $30 at Amazon

Speaking of ways to spice up the look of your S20, another case that fits this bill nicely is the Tech21 Studio Design. The pattern on the back gives the S20 a welcome touch of flair, and of course, the case comes in a few different colors. You also get 8-foot drop protection!

Nice and grippy

Speck Presidio Grip

speck-presidio-grip-galaxy-s20-cropped.p

  • $32 at Amazon
  • $40 at Best Buy

Being as expensive as it is, having a secure grip on the S20 at all times is a must. Thankfully, this is something the Speck Presidio Grip does really well. Offered in three colors, the case has a grip-friendly design that’s been drop-tested up to 13 feet to ensure maximum protection.

Thin, grippy color

Rinkge Air-S

ringke-air-s-lavender-galaxy-s20-case.jp

  • $9 at Amazon
  • $9 at Walmart

This affordable case is slim but grippy, with a flexible TPU makeup that helps keep it easy to get on and off. There are four color options here, but I like the fiery coral and the soft Lavender Gray.

Which best Galaxy S20 case should I buy?

samsung-galaxy-s20-cases-caseology-spige

I’m a huge fan of the slim but sturdy Caseology Parallax in Aqua Green, which is what my own Cloud Blue Galaxy S20 is wearing right now.

If you prefer your cases on the more durable end of the spectrum, skip the bulky black blocks and get yourself the Spidercase Protective Case. It’s got the same multi-piece design as the Supcase, but it’s got a clear back to you can show off your S20’s color and a pretty purple bumper that I’ll take over grays and blacks any day.

LG Wing pre-orders now available at Verizon

One of the most interesting phones that has come out in a long time, the LG Wing, is finally available through Verizon. With one of the most unique designs on the market, time will tell how durable the phone is. If anything, it will definitely be a head turner.Pre-orders are currently underway with the launch date of October 15.  The all-important question is how much it will cost. Indeed, Verizon and LG are pricing it at $999. If you go through the carrier’s payment plan, it will cost you $41.66 per month.Verizon has some pretty sweet offers for the LG Wing which will help interested buyers save money. If you add a line on select Unlimited Plans and you trade in an eligible device you get $750 offGet up to an additional $250 Verizon eGift Card if you port a number to Verizon while buying the LG WingIf you’re an existing customer on an eligible Unlimited Plan you can get up to $500 when you trade in an eligible device. If you buy the LG Wing, trade in an eligible device, and port a number you can get the Wing free. Unfortunately, I don’t have info as to what exactly the eligible devices are, but I would imagine roughly any flagship from Samsung, Apple, Google, and maybe even LG from the last 1-2 years would qualify.I may be part of a small minority here, but I’m legit excited for the LG Wing. It is almost a ray of sunshine in a sea of otherwise ‘same’ looking devices. Are you as excited for the Wing as I am?Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear what you think about it!

The best phones available at Boost Mobile (October 2020)

Boost Mobile may no longer belong to Sprint, but that doesn’t mean it’s a completely different company under DISH. In fact, it’s largely business as usual to the average consumer. As is the case with other MVNOs, Boost has its own rate plans, customer service, and phone selection. Here, we’ll dig into the devices offered at Boost. We’ve gathered up a handful of the best phones you can purchase at Boost Mobile today. In addition to what’s offered through Boost, we always suggest buying an unlocked phone for use with a carrier. The options are plentiful in both directions and you’ll likely get something more powerful.Samsung Galaxy S20The Samsung Galaxy S20 reigns as the current king of the hill and is the standard bearer by which other phones are measured. For your money you’ll get a 6.2-inch Infinity-O display that reaches edge to edge and features a hole-punch front-facing 10-megapixel camera.Around back are a trio of cameras in the form of a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 12-megapixel wide-angle, and 64-megapixel telephoto camera.Powering things are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor, 12GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. Need more room for media? Toss in a microSD card and add up to 1TB more space. This one will be powerful enough to handle daily tasks for two or more years.Samsung Galaxy S20 at Boost MobileSamsung Galaxy A21The Galaxy S series gets all of the fanfare, but the Galaxy A line is just as good for a lot of people. Indeed, these lower cost options give consumers the same great Samsung design but with just the right amount of features. We’re talking maybe one-third the price yet still plenty of power.Standout features in the Galaxy A21 include a 6.5-inch HD display, and quad-camera (16MP main lens, 120 degree ultra wide, 2MP depth camera, and 2MP macro) array. An octa-core processor with 3GB RAM/32GB ROM is paired with Android 10, and the 4,000mAh battery should get typical users far beyond a full day.Samsung Galaxy A21 at Boost MobileLG Stylo 6For Notes, Photo Markups and DocsBig, practical, and the only one with a stylus, the LG Stylo 4+ provides users with a large screen and an extra bit of functionality. The 6.8-inch display offers up plenty of high-definition space for scribbling notes, marking up documents, and more.Running Android 10, the phone is powered by an octa-core processor with 3GB RAM. Storage comes in at 64GB but a microSD expansion card slot opens the door for up to 2TB external media.Wrapping things up, the LG handset has a triple camera configuration on the rear, front-facing 13-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4,000mAh battery.LG Stylo at Boost MobileMotorola Moto EStock Android on a BudgetWe absolutely love what Motorola does with its Android phones. They run a bare bones software experience that leaves things the way Google intended, and feature affordably priced alternatives to flagships. Here, you get a big (6.2-inch) screen, a very modern build of Android (10), and respectable smattering of mid-range hardware. Key details include an octa-core processor, 32GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot for external media.Other things we appreciate? A water resistant coating, USB Type-C charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.Motorola Moto E at Boost MobileCoolpad LegacyFirst-time BuyerOn the lower end of the spectrum we find phones which might be decent for first time smartphone users. Whether that means grandma or the ten year old who’s responsible enough for a handset, it matters little. The Coolpad Legacy rivals other, pricier models in terms of hardware but its rock-bottom price puts it among the most affordable.Key details include a 6.3-inch display, a dual (16-megapixel and 5-megapixel) rear camera setup, and front-facing 13-megapixel selfie camera.
