Dell President’s Day Sale: 40% off Alienware, XPS 2-in-1s, and more laptop deals

The late 2019 holidays and 2020 New Year’s celebrations are well behind us, and such big seasonal sales tend to be fleeting during this time of year. However, President’s Day is one such holiday that brings some nice deals, and Dell’s running one such sale that’s packed with some pretty sweet discounts on a variety of laptops – including some of our own long-time favorites such as the Dell XPS 13.

This year’s President’s Day celebration falls on February 17 (always the third Monday of February). The Dell President’s Day Sale starts a week early, though, with the doorbuster deals kicking off the sale on Monday, February 10 at 11 a.m. ET, and we recommend jumping on them as quickly as possible if you see something you like. These deals include discounts of up to 40% off on some of the best laptops and desktops that Dell has to offer, from sleek 2-in-1 ultrabooks to beefy gaming machines, and to save you some time, we’ve already rounded up the best of the lot right here:

Dell 2-in-1 and Touchscreen Laptop Deals

Dell’s excellent 2-in-1 ultrabooks have become the flagships of this iconic brand, with some of the best convertible laptops available today bearing the Dell name. The XPS series in particular regularly rank among our top favorites, but there are also some solid 2-in-1s to be found in the Inspiron and Latitude lines (especially for those looking for something a bit more budget-friendly than the XPS laptops, which can get pricey). No matter which models you’re interested in, though, the Dell President’s Day Sale offers tidy savings on a bundle of great featherweight 2-in-1 laptops:

  • Dell Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1 laptop (10th gen i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$600 ($200 off)
  • Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop (10th gen i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD)$1,225 ($425 off)
  • Dell XPS 13 touchscreen laptop (10th gen i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$1,421 ($429 off)

  • Dell Inspiron 11 3000 2-in-1 laptop (AMD A9 CPU, Radeon R5 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB)$180 ($170 off)

Dell Gaming Laptop Deals

Dell’s bread and butter has always been its work-focused PCs for students and professionals, but the brand hasn’t forgotten about the gamers out there. When it comes to gaming laptops, Dell actually has two lines under its name: The G-series laptops (representing entry- and mid-level gaming laptops) and the premium Alienware series. These PCs tend to be on the pricier side due to their beefier hardware, so discounts are always welcome, and the Dell President’s Day Sale definitely has a few gaming laptop deals worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new entertainment setup:

  • Dell G3 15 gaming laptop (9th gen i5 CPU, GTX 1660 Ti GPU, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$882 ($288 off)
  • Alienware m15 R1 gaming laptop (9th gen i7 CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$1,470 ($480 off)
  • Dell G5 15 SE gaming laptop (9th gen i7 CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$1,392 ($278 off)
  • Alienware m17 R1 4K gaming laptop (9th gen i7 CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, 17.3-inch 4K screen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$1,568 ($532 off)
  • Alienware m15 gaming laptop (9th gen i7 CPU, RTX 2070 GPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD)$2,009 ($521 off)

Dell Budget and Traditional Laptop Deals

Greg Mombert/Digital Trends

Laptops are ubiquitous nowadays, which means you no longer have to spend much to get a solid, no-frills workhorse – and that’s exactly the sort of PC that Dell built its name on. Its Inspiron and Latitude lines contain a lot of excellent affordable laptop computers that get the job done without breaking the bank, and while 2-in-1 ultrabooks are all the rage today, Dell still offers plenty of premium traditionally designed laptops in its XPS line that come packing the latest hardware without requiring you to pay for things you don’t want (such as fold-flat touchscreens). The Dell President’s Day Sale has some great deals on these machines that make them even more attractive if all you need is a good Windows PC for work, web browsing, and general everyday use:

  • Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop (10th gen i3 CPU, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD)$294 ($86 off)
  • Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop (Ryzen 5 CPU, Vega 8 graphics, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD)$470 ($180 off)
  • Dell Inspiron 17 3000 laptop (10th gen i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$764 ($156 off)
  • Dell XPS 13 laptop (10th gen i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD)$1,078 ($272 off)
  • Dell XPS 15 4K laptop (9th gen i7 CPU, 15.6-inch 4K screen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)$1,568 ($382 off)

Dell Desktop PC Deals

Bill Roberson/Digital Trends

As popular as laptops are today, there are still (and will likely always be) many of us who either need or prefer the full-sized interface of a good old-fashioned desktop PC. There’s nothing wrong with that, and as laptops have become sleeker, lighter, and more powerful, it’s not as if desktop hardware has been left in the dust – in fact, desktops are still the most cost-effective way to enjoy the latest and greatest in PC technology, and that’s without considering the added enjoyment of larger monitors and full-sized keyboards. That’s why desktop PCs are still favored by demanding users such as gamers and professionals, and the Dell President’s Day Sale has some excellent discounts on desktop towers and all-in-ones built for work or play:

  • Dell Inspiron small desktop PC (9th gen i3 CPU, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD)$294 ($156 off)
  • Dell Inspiron 24 5000 Touch all-in-one desktop PC (10th gen i3 CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD)$588 ($112 off)
  • Dell Inspiron 27 all-in-one desktop PC (10th gen i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD)$783 ($217 off)
  • Dell XPS Special Edition gaming desktop PC (9th gen i5 CPU, GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD)$882 ($168 off)
  • Dell G5 gaming desktop PC (9th gen i7 CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD)$1,176 ($274 off)
