Gionee’s Marathon M4 comes with a a 5000mAh battery

The Gionee Marathon M4 is a new Android powered smartphone being released in India. Most notably, the handset comes with a whopping 5000mAh battery installed living up to its name.

The handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s Amigo 3.0 skin on top and features a 5-inch AMOLED screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM. On the back of the handset you will find a 8MP camera and on the front side you will find a 5MP camera for taking selfies and video chats. The handset comes with 16GB of internal storage and 32GB of expandable memory.

The company says the handset will provide up to 50 hours of talk time and 440 hours of standby time. But, the device isn’t all about hardware, it also comes with many useful features. The HotKnot feature allows two phones to be paired together for easily sharing media by putting the display of each phone together. The company says it’s the easiest method for sharing quality photos and videos with others.

Timir Baran Acharyya of Gionee India had the following to say about the Marathon M4:

If you have been dying to find a smartphone that will last days on a single charge, this is the phone for you. The Gionee Marathon M4 costs Rs. 15,999 and it will be available in white or black. No word on its official release date yet.
