MSN apps now available for several platforms including Android

Microsoft has announced that their family of MSN apps are now available for several new platforms and devices including Android, iOS and Amazon Kindle and Fire devices. The apps were already available for the desktop and for mobile Windows devices, so the reach is quite extensive now. MSN’s apps include MSN News, MSN Weather, MSN Sports, MSN Money, MSN Health & Fitness, and MSN Food & Drink. According to Microsoft, the apps were rebuilt from the ground up this past year for a “mobile-first, cloud-first world.”

The MSN News apps pulls in content from a variety of sources and partners including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post,CNN, AOL, and sources from overseas as well. With the MSN Sports app, users can get live scores, schedules, results, standings and more for over 150 leagues around the world as well as news from over 200 sources.

The MSN Money app, in addition to providing financial news, gives users the ability to track stocks, mutual funds and other investment vehicles. A small collection of financial tools, like tip calculators and mortgage estimator, are also available. The MSN Food & Drink app gives users access to hundreds of thousands of recipes, 1.5 million wine reviews, and users can create shopping lists for the next trip to the grocery store.

The MSN Health & Fitness app helps users track nutrition and diet information, track exercise data, and access a variety of workout videos. The MSN Weather app provides up-to-date weather information for locations around the world, including current conditions, forecasts, radar maps, and breaking alerts.
