Verizon has announced a pair of new tablets to grace the networks ever-growing device offerings list. Today big red is introducing the LG G Pad 7.0 and 10.1. Both tablets are LTE enabled giving you the ability to surf, stream and video chat on the go over Verizon’s network.
As for physical hardware you can expect to get similar specs in both variants. The launch with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot for expanded storage, 1.2Ghz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400), 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front shooter. They both bring in some of LG’s more interesting software enhancements like the LG Knock Code found on their latest line of smartphones as well as the Q-Pair app that lets your LG phone pair to the tablet and act as the phone for calls and texts. I would like to say that there is a difference in the screen resolution between the two, but there just isn’t. Both devices carry a resolution of 1200 x 800.
The differences between the two tablets comes down to the battery size. The 7-inch variant carries a 4000 mAh battery while the 10.1-inch carries a larger 8000 mAh battery.
The LG G Pad 7.0 and 10.1 LTE tablets are on sale now and carry a limited time promotional price tag. At the moment the LG G Pad 7.0 is up for $49.99 on a two-year contract while the LG G Pad 10.1 is going for $199.99. Verizon doesn’t mention how long the promotional pricing will last though. If you opt for the Verizon Edge program on the tablets you are looking at $10.41 per month for the 7-inch variant and $12.49 per month for the 10.1 variant. That makes the 7-inch $249.99 and the 10.1-inch $299.99 out of pocket.
