Contract price drops on Nexus 6 to $249 for Sprint customers, $50 credits Incoming

The saga of the Nexus 6 has been nothing short of frustrating for many Android enthusiasts. Limited stock on the Play Store keeps you checking every Wednesday morning in hopes you can sneak your purchase in. For other, the carrier route is where they are headed. T-Mobile put the Nexus 6 on sale yesterday and we saw that AT&T has slapped their awesome globe logo on the back of their variant. Sprint is also offering up the Nexus 6 to would be buyers, but with a slight change to their release pricing of $299 when it landed on November 14th.

Sprint has permanently reduced the on-contract pricing of the Nexus 6 down to $249. Which puts it in-line with AT&T’s price tag for the device on-contract as well. If you were quick to purchase the device from Sprint and paid the higher price tag of $299 don’t go ballistic just yet. Sprint is retroactively refunding people the $50 difference. You can expect to receive a text message explaining that the credit will be applied to your bill.

The contract price drop also is reflected in the off contract price tag as well, moving it from a listed $696.00 to $648.00. In turn, this also lowers the monthly payment for the Sprint Easy pay option. Taking it from the previous $29 a month, that was originally announced by Sprint on November 11th, to $27 a month. Not a huge difference, but enough to mention. However, the Sprint document that AndroidPolice got a hold of depicting the $50 credit information doesn’t make mention of the easy pay offers. Since the device has only been out for 6 days, I assume the change will be reflected on the first bill payment due for the device. Still, keep an eye on that and make sure it gets adjusted so you aren’t over paying for the device.
