Apple Retail Stores Post $4.5 Billion in Revenue in Q4 2013, 30 New Stores Coming in Fiscal 2014 [Mac Blog]

During its financial results conference call for the third calendar and fourth fiscal quarter of 2013, Apple shared new numbers about its retail stores, announcing a total of $4.5 billion in revenue which is up 6% from the year-ago quarter. According to Apple, iPhone sales are up 36% per store per week, and the company opened 8 new stores in the quarter, bringing the total number of Apple Retail Stores to 416 total, with 162 located outside of the United States.

Average revenue per store was at $10.9 million, down from $11.2 million last year. Apple saw 99 million visitors to an average of 411 Apple stores during the September quarter, equating to approximately 18,500 visitors per store per week.

Apple also offered some projections on its future retail locations, including its plans to build over 30 new stores in fiscal 2014, with 2/3 of those stores located outside of the United States. Apple also plans to remodel 20 stores over the course of the year.

Overall, Apple shared via its financial results report that it has posted a revenue of $37.5 billion and net quarterly profit of $7.5 billion, or $8.26 per diluted share, compared to revenue of $36 billion and net quarterly profit of $8.2 billion, or $7.05 per diluted share in the year-ago quarter.
