Tim Cook lands on Twitter

@Tim_Cook lands on Twitter

It’s been verified by Twitter and Apple’s confirmed it: thousands of Twitter users are already following an account just created by Apple CEO Tim Cook. The account profile says “CEO Apple, Fan of Auburn football and Duke basketball.” As we posted this article, @Tim_Cook had tweeted just once:

Visited Retail Stores in Palo Alto today. Seeing so many happy customers reminds us of why we do what we do.

Tim Cook was, in fact, at the Palo Alto Apple retail store, greeting customers who had waited in line for the iPhone 5c and 5s, both released today.

Cook is beginning to follow some high-profile Twitter users, including Apple VPs Eddy Cue and Phil Schiller, Kerry Kennedy of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (as well as the center’s official Twitter feed), CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, Steve Jobs’ widow Laurene, late night show host Jimmy Fallon and others.
