Apparently, there’s something that phone manufacturers know that we perhaps might not; after the introduction of the new Apple iPhone 5S which is newly available in gold, we’ve seen a flurry of Android manufacturers starting to ready gold versions of their own flagship phones, first spotting leaked photos of a HTC One in the shiny stuff, and today @SamsungMobileArabia posted the above photo of a light pink Samsung Galaxy S4 with gold edges. Samsung Gulf added the following picture to its Facebook page, confirming that the Galaxy S4 would become available in Gold Pink and Gold Brown:
Personally, I can’t imagine why anyone would want a gold Galaxy S4, but from the way that the gold iPhone 5S is now sold out, there clearly is a demand for it, and the effluent region of the United Arab Emirates could definitely be a key market. It could only be a matter of time before we see more manufacturers adopt a gold version of their flagship phones to cash in on this market; just imagine a gold Nexus device…
