Samsung clearly wants to get users hooked on Galaxy devices at an early age, and so today brings the launch of the Galaxy Tab 3 kids — a child-friendly tablet with a range of pre-loaded educational apps.

The hardware itself isn't anything too fancy — a 7-inch 1024×600 display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.1 — but Samsung is relying on bright colors and appealing software to win over young users.

As evidenced by the promotional shot, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids features "Kids' World," "Kids' Video," "Kids' Camera," "Kids' Gallery" and "Kids Store" — which we presume is for purchasing apps and other content, not children. A built-in time management capability also allows parents to control how long kids use the device.

In addition, the manufacturer's offering an optional "Kids Case" for the tablet, which features large handle which also doubles as a stand, and a capacitive "C Pen" for drawing on the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will arrive in South Korea in September, before arriving in China, Europe, the U.S., Africa, South America and South East Asia at a later date. No details on pricing, but we'd expect it to come in around the $200 level of the regular Galaxy Tab 3.
