Brazilian Windows Phone fans got a treat yesterday when Nokia's top two smartphones, the Lumia 1020 and the Lumia 925, were released. The Lumia 1020, Nokia's flagship Windows Phone device, is available in black and white, with yellow on its way. It wi...
Have you played cricket in the dark before? We're not talking about flood lights on full, but in actual darkness? Nokia India has attempted to do so, using only some coloured lighting for guidance as two teams battle it out on the streets. Thanks to t...

Nokia has been playing with the wireless transfer of energy and mobile phones since the Lumia 920, which was the first Windows Phone to feature wireless charging - a cool concept that's incredibly useful in the field. But what if you could go one step further and charge your phone with lightning? Nokia has teamed up with the University of Southampton to achieve just that.
It was only a matter of time before the iPhone 5s camera got put head to head against other camera phones, particularly the Nokia Lumia series. The Lumia 1020 and 925 are both arguably some of the best smartphone cameras on the market. Daniel Rubino ...
Windows Phone Central compares and contrasts today's top smartphone cameras
2013 so far can be described as the year of the camera phone. Between Nokia’s engineering and the likes of its competitors playing catch up, consumers have plenty of choice when it comes to smartphones with excellent cameras.
Following up our recent Lumia shoot out, we decided to take three of today's high end devices out for a showdown, specifically the brand new iPhone 5S, Lumia 925 (review) and Lumia 1020 (review). All three can be considered top contenders on paper, but we'll see who is the best when we dig deeper into the pixels.
Mexico has become an increasingly strong market for Windows Phone broadly and Nokia specifically. In fact, latest sales estimations from Kantar Worldpanel show a monstrous 10.5% year over year sales increase, landing at 12.5% market share for recent sales. Heck, they even have a Starbucks app.
With that in mind, it’s great to see the Nokia Lumia 925 finally getting ready to launch there.
There's little debate that Nokia has changed the way we look at our Windows Phone cameras. From the PureView technology to optical image stabilization (OIS) to making Zeiss a household name, Nokia has designed a healthy, quality assortment of cameras for their Lumia Windows Phones.
While the weather wasn't exactly agreeable all the time, we took the Nokia Lumia 1020, 925 and 920 out to see how these three cameras compared. All three are solid contenders to satisfy your smartphone photographic needs but is the Lumia 1020 the clear winner? The answer may surprise you.
Looking for light protection for the Lumia 925? This affordable case may be your answer.
Following our AT&T Nokia Lumia 925 review from earlier today, we figured we would toss up a quick review for a new case as well.
The Lumia 925, while an excellent phone, is almost too thin and light making it easy to drop. While a fall on a rug won’t have any ill effect, on a hard floor or some jagged concrete it could be devastating (hint: we speak from experience).
Don’t get us wrong, the Lumia 925 will still work, but the cosmetic damage may ruin the otherwise gorgeous design of this device—and you don’t want that, do you?
The Nokia Lumia 925 is a fantastic Windows Phone that is now available at AT&T. We've shared our first impressions and unboxing of the Lumia 925 late last week and now we take a little closer look at the latest AT&T and Nokia offering.
The AT&T Nokia Lumia 925 is almost identical to the unlocked version and the T-Mobile variant that we've covered previously. However, AT&T is only offering the Lumia 925 in black and it works with AT&T's LTE network. The Lumia 925 has made a very good first impression and the more we use it, the more the Lumia 925 grows on us.
Is it strong enough to push us away from the Lumia 1020? What about the Lumia 920? Maybe.... just maybe.
There is nothing better than a good deal, especially for something you were going to get at some point. Here’s one for anyone thinking of picking up the Nokia Lumia 925 on either T-Mobile or AT&T. Buy through the Microsoft Store and get the wireless charging shell for free. Details below.
Yesterday, AT&T and Nokia released the slim and mostly-metal Lumia 925, bringing along with it one of the nation’s largest LTE networks at a $99 price point ($429 off contract). Today, we go hands on with the latest Nokia offering and come away impressed.
Featuring 16GB of internal storage (12GB available), a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with ClearBlack and an 8.7MP PureView camera with that extra lens-element for improved sharpness, there’s a lot to like about the Lumia 925. The phone is cool-to-the-touch due to the aluminum frame and it comes in elegant black (as opposed to T-Mobile’s brighter white offering). The OS is build 1328 (GDR2) and like other AT&T GDR2 devices, unfortunately lacks Data Sense.
The Lumia 925 from Nokia goes on sale today at AT&T across the US. The anticipated Windows Phone is finally available for purchase and is listed at $99 when taken out with a new contract. We previously looked at the device when pre-orders kicked off last month.
Nokia’s Pro Cam is an excellent camera app for those who have access to it. Sure, time between shots could be decreased, but it’s still a solid app for camera enthusiasts wanting granular control of settings. It was first available for the Nokia Lumia 1020, but later became available for anyone with a Lumia 92x device. Unfortunately, a few days ago we had reports in the forums that users were unable to install the app. Today it looks like it’s fixed.
T-Mobile seems to be on a roll this week with updates. Earlier we saw the HTC 8X finally receive its GDR2 OS update along with new firmware and today, the Lumia 925 has received a minor OS bump from 1327 to 1328 along with new firmware, adjusting it from 1325 to 1330.
Since the Lumia 925 already shipped with Amber and GDR2 onboard, this update to 1328 is mostly related to carrier-related improvements and isolated bug fixes, though its exact contents are unclear at this time. Some users have reported some odd behavior on their 925’s, including occasional resets and even a “blue screen of death”, which is irrecoverable (we had this issue, though it seems very isolated). Also things like the soft keys not lighting up and Wi-Fi connectivity have been occasionally wonky, though overall, the Lumia 925 has been very reliable for our daily use.
Microsoft has finally started getting some hilarious videos to promote their products the past couple months. Maybe they’ve learned a thing or two from Nokia, who have always had a strong marketing team. Case in point, the video you’re about to watch below that highlights the low-light prowess of the Lumia 925.
Depending on who you ask around the Windows Phone Central water cooler the Lumia 925 might be their favorite phone. Compared to other Windows Phone devices, it’s very different, but in a good way. It’s sleek, aluminum body makes it a joy to pick up and use all the time. So far, it’s only been available in various markets around the globe. European markets picked it up first in early June, with the U.S. joining a month later in July. Since then it’s slowly been spreading around the globe. Soon, users in Latin America will be getting their hands on the aluminum Lumia.
Nokia has kept the camera in its Windows Phone at the forefront of its marketing campaign since joining Microsoft's resolve back in 2011. The Lumia 1020 is the latest addition to the Lumia family of smartphones and sports the most advanced optics on a...
The Lumia 925 has had its priced dropped slightly in Russia. The premium Windows Phone launched last month and pre-ordering set one back by 24,990 rubles ($750). Today you'll be able to pick one up for 21,990 rubles ($660) with the choice of white, gr...
Just in case you needed a little jolt to your memory, AT&T has now put up the all black Nokia Lumia 925 up for preorder today, with an anticipated ship date of September 11th. The device should be in stores on the 13th and if you preorder we bet a few of you will get the device a day early for some bragging rights.
The AT&T Nokia Lumia 925 will set you back $99 on contract, $21 a month with the Next upgrade program or a flat $429 off-contract. Featuring a 4.5” PureMotion HD+ AMOLED display, all black color scheme with an aluminum chassis and that 8.7MP PureView camera (with an added sixth lens element for increased sharpness), the Lumia 925 is one looker of a device. In fact while we gloat about the Lumia 1020’s photographic abilities, our Lumia 925 is constantly going with us too due to its fantastic design.
AT&T has announced that the Lumia 925 will indeed be launching on the mobile operator mid-September and it comes in a special black, including the back and metal. We recently looked at some rumoured dates provided by trusted sources, but now confi...
Windows Phone Central has learned that AT&T is poised to grab the Nokia Lumia 925 and that it will be launching mid-September on the US carrier. The thin and sleek aluminum Lumia will reportedly be the black version and cost $99 on contract. We have confirmed this information with two trusted sources.
The Nokia Lumia 920, currently sold on AT&T as an exclusive, will continue to be sold along the Lumia 925. However, its price should be dropping to $49 (from $99) on contract around the same time as the 925’s release (possibly even beforehand).

It can be a pain if you find yourself being allergic to mobile phone cases when you pick up the Lumia 925 and realise you can't wireless charge it without one attached. Nokia opted to not include wireless charging as a complete packing inside the shel...
Nokia has published the above advertisement to attract those party animals who simply cannot remember the night before and require photos to trace back steps to figure out exactly what occurred. Unfortunately, if your smartphone camera isn't great with night shots you're going to be literally left in the dark when trying to see view the device captured.
This isn't the case with OIS (optical image stabilisation) in high-end Lumia Windows Phones like the Lumia 925. Just like we saw with the previous advertisement, Nokia is going aggressive against competitor products after the sun sets.
The Nokia Lumia 925 has been featured in the latest music video from Enrique Iglesias, "Turn The Night Up." The Windows Phone first appears at the 00:18 marker and can be spotted throughout the rather interesting video, including use of the default ca...
