The DJI 4K Mini is ‘the best budget drone for beginners’ — and right now it’s on sale for a record-low price at Amazon

If you’re interested in drone videography or photography, but don’t know where to start, I have the perfect deal. It’s the DJI Mini 4K drone on sale at Amazon right now for $239 (was $299).

This is, so far, a new record-low price on one of our favorite models – one that we rank at number one on our best budget drone buyer’s guide, no less. It might not seem like a huge discount, but this is a great deal on a model that hasn’t been on sale since November last year.

As an overview, the DJI Mini 4K gets you everything you need to get started. At 249g, it’s a very compact drone, but it’s still capable of 31 minutes of flight time at up to 10KM distance and excellent 4K footage, thanks in no small part to its Level 5 wind resistance and three-axis gimbal stabilization.

Thanks to the DJI Fly app, it’s also easy to use the Mini 4K with support for one-tap take-off and auto-return. Note, however, that the Mini 4K doesn’t have collision detection, so bear that in mind before you take off for your maiden flight.

DJI Mini 4K drone deal at Amazon

The excellent DJI Mini 4K has just hit its lowest ever price over at Amazon, giving beginner drone pilots the perfect opportunity to pick up one of our favorite models. Alongside excellent 4K footage, the Mini 4K also boasts 31 minutes of flight time, a useful 2x digital zoom, and a three-axis gimbal for smooth video capture. View Deal

Are DJI drones still a smart buy?

If you’re a beginner drone pilot, you may be wondering how the 2025 ban affects the DJI 4K Mini. Well, the ban is enforced on new drones imported from overseas, so older stock like the 4K Mini is essentially unaffected.

Because of that, you can fly your drone in peace (and responsibly) for the time being. As of writing, there’s nothing to suggest that the US government will enforce a full ban on drone flight, so we’re still happy to recommend the DJI 4K Mini if you’re looking for a powerful, yet compact model.
