Remarkable’s pricey Paper Pro is hundreds off with refurbished deals

If you compare the value proposition of getting one of Remarkable’s Paper Pro E-Ink tablets versus buying a laptop, the latter will win in most scenarios. Laptops are more capable, with more ports, apps, and versatility — but they’re much more distracting, too. Avoiding distractions during work or while writing for leisure isn’t easy, and that’s where Remarkable wins. If you’ve been wanting to try one of its pricey tablets, the company is offering plenty of bundles including refurbished models that it says are “good as new,” and are hundreds off compared to buying new. All of the company’s refurbished products include a 50-day satisfaction guarantee, plus a one-year limited warranty, just like new devices.

The Paper Pro typically sells new for $629 — no accessories included — but to list some refurb bundle examples, you can get one with a Marker or Marker Plus for $469 or $499, respectively. Bundles including the Marker and Marker Plus with a Book Folio cover cost $558 and $588, respectively. Lastly, if you want the Type Folio included alongside the Marker, those bundles start at $619 compared to $858, the cost of getting each component new.

  • $629 $469 at Remarkable (refurbished)

Other Verge-approved deals

  • If your Switch 2 system is without a hard zip-up case, it doesn’t cost much today to get a pretty good one. For example, PowerA’s slim Switch 2 case offers good-enough protection, with a soft screen cover inside that has 10 cartridge slots on one of its sides. The cover can double as a kickstand, which is nice, but not that useful since the Switch 2 has a great, multi-angle kickstand built in. You can pick this case up at Amazon and Walmart for $13.30, down from $19.99. This is one of a few models that I included in my buying guide to the best Switch 2 cases.
  • Sony’s on again, off again sales on PS5 consoles is back on at Best Buy and Walmart. You can get a digital edition console (no disc drive included, but one can be purchased after) with an 825GB SSD, plus some Fortnite DLC, for $399.99 (originally $499.99). If having a disc drive is important to you, whether to watch movies or play games on disc, the console that includes one is discounted as well, costing $449.99 at Best Buy (usually $549.99, the disc drive usually costs $79.99 à la carte). The PlayStation 5 was the top-selling console at the end of 2025, pushing ahead of Nintendo’s newer Switch 2 console. Giving some relief to customers who wish they’d bought one before Sony’s midyear price hike due to tariffs likely caused the surge in popularity. There are also some fantastic recent games to play, including Ghost of Yotei, with more coming in 2026, like Marvel’s Wolverine.
  • TV deals are about to ramp up ahead of the NFL Super Bowl. What we’ve seen on high-end 77-inch OLED TVs has us excited for more. If you happen to want such a big, contrast-rich TV, LG’s B5 is down to $1,499.99 (originally twice that price) at Best Buy. This model doesn’t get as bright as the company’s G5 model, but it has just as many high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, and if you haven’t had an OLED before, even LG’s entry-level OLED will be a delightful upgrade in terms of color and lighting accuracy. Getting this 77-inch OLED will make you an honorary member of The Verge’s very exclusive 77-inch OLED club.
