Earfun unveils an upgraded version of some great cheap noise-cancelling headphones — and some open earbuds that look like a total bargain

  • Earfun unviles new Clip 2 open-ears with LDAC for $79
  • Wave Pro X over-ears with Auracast, ANC and Hi-Res Audio for $129
  • AI-powered translation coming to Air Pro 4+ for free

Earfun’s engineers have been busy. They’ve just upgraded the Air Pro 4+ earbuds, designed some brand new ear-clip earbuds and created a new pair of over-ear headphones too.

When we reviewed the Earfun Air Pro 4+ earbuds, we liked them a lot, and now they’re gaining new powers in the form of AI-powered language translation. It’s a free update and there are no ongoing usage fees.

The Air Pro 4+ launched in September with a retail price of $99.99 / £89.99 (around AU$280), so while they’re among the brand’s more expensive models they’re still extremely affordable. And there’s a new white version to go with the existing black model.

The new AI update will be available from January 6th 2026.

Earfun’s clip-ons are cheap and cheerful

Earfun has also announced a new pair of ultra-affordable clip-ons, the $79.99 (about £60 / AU$120) Earfun Clip 2. Earfun calls them “the world’s first Hi-Res comfort Ear-Clip earbuds with AI translation under $80”, and they’ll be available to buy from March 2026.

The specifications are very impressive for the price: the aforementioned AI-powered translation plus 12mm dynamic drivers, a “weightless” open-ear design, up to 40 hours of playback and Hi-Res Audio certification with LDAC. We’re expecting the world of the best open earbuds to come down in price a lot in 2026, and these look like a strong start.

There’s a second model incoming: the Earfun Wave Pro X. This is the successor to the very good Earfun Wave Pro headphones from 2024, which we liked a lot and held up as our favorite budget option among the best noise-cancelling headphones for a while, until the 1More Sonoflow Pro HQ51 dethroned it.

The pitch here is that the Wave Pro X is first dual-driver Qualcomm ANC headphones with Auracast, and features a dual-diaphragm driver design, 8-mic adaptive ANC, Bluetooth 6 with Google Fast Pair, aptX Lossless and LDAC, and up to 100 hours of battery life. These cans were previously announced in September with an expected launch date of January, but it seems that the engineering of that 8-mic ANC system proved a little more time-consuming than anticipated.

The Wave Pro X will be $129.99 (about £97 / AU$196) and they’ll be available in June 2026.
