The answers to today’s Strands, game #669, are…

  • BOLD
  • STRONG
  • AROMATIC
  • SMOOTH
  • NUTTY
  • BITTER
  • VELVETY
  • SPANGRAM: COFFEE
  • My rating: Hard
  • My score: Perfect

I’m sure I wasn’t the only person to think that today’s search would be related to famous people called Joe, rather than the many types of COFFEE.

I saw the spangram first today and was thrown slightly by its shortness – a one-word snake was a rarity at the tail end of 2025.

The search did pose some difficulties and it took me a while to pick out NUTTY and BITTER.

Yesterday’s NYT Strands answers (Wednesday, December 31, game #668)

  • SPIN
  • WHIRL
  • CIRCLE
  • ORBIT
  • PIROUETTE
  • ROTATE
  • SPANGRAM: ROUNDANDROUND
