In the fall of 2023, I was running hard up a hill in Portugal. Reaching the top of the scrub, I was greeted by a stunning view of a pure azure sea. But I was slightly distracted from the view: I was reviewing the Coros Pace 3 running watch, and I was amazed at how such a good fitness tracker could be so cheap.
It’s just gotten even cheaper. Right now you can get the Coros Pace 3 for $199 at Amazon US (was $249) and £199 at Amazon UK (was £219).

It’s not a huge discount in the grand scheme of things, but it’s brought the Coros Pace 3 down to the same price as the Garmin Forerunner 165, and I’d buy the Coros over the better-known Garmin in a heartbeat. Today’s best Coros Pace 3 Black Friday deals
US deal: Save $50 on the Coros Pace 3. It’s an excellent fitness tool, with up to 23 days of battery life thanks to its low-power MIP screen (which is being slowly phased out these days), accurate GPS and route planner in the corresponding Coros app. It’s super-light too, to the point you’ll forget you’re wearing it.
Also available: Coros Pace 3 (silicon band)View Deal
UK deal: The Coros Pace 3 gets a slightly smaller discount in the UK, down to a similar £199 price. As the Coros Pace 4 is being released, the Coros Pace 3 price has been lowered, so you’re running out of time to pick up one of the best value running watches on the market right now.

In my Coros Pace 3 review, I said “this light running watch is better value than many Garmins” and two years on, I stand by that statement. I even said I’d be setting an alert for this watch in the Black Friday deals earlier this month, and lo and behold, it’s come up.
It’s long-lasting with an outstanding battery life, handles swim-tracking and stroke counts perfectly well (I tested it, again, in Portugal, where it held up in my stroke-counting tests). My one gripe is that it’s a training watch, not a smartwatch: if you’re expecting to take calls on-wrist or handle any more than basic notifications, you’ll be disappointed and may prefer a Garmin. But at this price, it’s hard to have any complaints.
Still not sure? We’ve picked out some similarly-priced Garmin alternatives below.

US deal: While I personally don’t think the 165 is as good a deal as the Coros Pace 3, it’s still a great deal at this price if you want an AMOLED smart/training watch hybrid. It features lots of advanced running features like race-adaptive training plans. The training plan on your watch will automatically adjust depending on your performance – for example, if you’re doing better than expected, it’ll recommend longer distances or faster runs. How cool is that?View Deal
US deal: The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is ideal for joggers, cyclists and gym-goers looking for a cheaper Garmin watch that can also act as an Apple Watch alternative. It’s very light and comfortable to wear, has great fitness tracking features, and is more suitable for slimmer wrists and office-wear than big, chunky adventure watches. View Deal
UK deal: The Garmin Forerunner 165 is slightly cheaper than the Coros at this price, so you’re going to have to weigh up whether you’d rather an AMOLED screen and Garmin’s smart training plans over Coros’ incredible battery life. View Deal
UK deal: Save £90 on the cheaper version of the Garmin Instinct 3 smartwatch, with a low-power MIP screen and up to 16 days of battery life. You miss Power Glass solar tech and the AMOLED screen, but you do get all its health tracking credentials, navigational tools like a built-in altimeter, barometer and compass, and its wicked electric lime colorway. A good gift for hikers and outdoorsy people. View Deal
