It looks as though the successors to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 3 are going to be turning up sooner rather than later, and now animations hidden in One UI 8.5 have revealed the design and some of the key features of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.
These animations were discovered by the team at Android Authority, and they show the wireless earbuds adopting a more refined, and curvier look compared to the current versions. It looks as though the on-board LED lights have been ditched too.
The stems are apparently going to be flattened out, rather than following the triangular look of the Galaxy Buds Pro 3, and overall the design looks to be a little more compact and straightforward – though they’re still very easy on the eye.
We also get a look at a charging case, which will now apparently open up completely, rather than following an AirPods-style design. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are shown being laid flat in the charging case in one of the animations.
Use your head
As for features, one of the animations discovered by Android Authority shows that the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are going to support head gestures – something we’ve seen on other wireless earbuds, including the best Apple AirPods.
You’re going to be able to use head gestures to answer or decline calls, dismiss alarms, hear notifications, and interact with an AI assistant, it looks like. This should come in handy when your hands are busy doing something else.
The animations also show there will be various features available through pressing and pinching the stems of the earbuds too. 360-degree recording, Adaptive Noise Control, and Find your phone are also mentioned, which are all available on the current model.
It’s not clear if this design and these features are going to be adopted by the standard Galaxy Buds 4 as well, but it seems likely. Based on this and previous leaks, we should see the earbuds appear alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 early next year.
