The Henry canister vacuum never gets good discounts… but there’s 38% off right now

I’ve tested many of the best vacuums on the market. Vacuums that can sense dirt, vacuums with lasers, vacuums that are light enough to wave comfortably above your head without breaking a sweat. But every time a deals event rolls around (and I’ve covered quite a few of these now), I always find myself doing a little check around for Henry canister vacuum deals. I’ve never found one worth writing about… until now.

Head to Argos this Black Friday and the Henry Corded Cylinder vacuum is down to £99, down from a list price of £160. And look, I know it’s the blue version rather than the famous red, but that’s still an absolute bargain for a stone-cold cleaning icon.

The Henry Canister vacuum is about the simplest vacuum you can imagine, but it’s also incredibly effective, and basically indestructible. It uses a dust bag that can hold up to 6L of debris, and comes with a long, retractable cord.

Today’s best Henry Black Friday deals

Head to Argos right now and you can pick up the Henry Canister vacuum in Blue for £99 – the lowest price ever at that retailer. Argos hasn’t included a ‘before’ price, but this vacuum is listed at £159.99 at Henry. We haven’t seen that kind of low price since around 2021, and it’s well worth snapping this deal up. View Deal

This is the Henry the model I used in one of my first house-shares. Looking back, a corded canister vacuum was a wildly inappropriate choice for that location, because the house was about 80% stairs. (If you, too, have lots of stairs, you might want to head to my general Black Friday vacuum deals roundup for some more easily manoeuvrable alternatives.) While I didn’t enjoy lugging it around, I couldn’t fault the Henry’s cleaning power – it was about a decade old at the time, and being used in a shared house of 20-somethings, it’s saying something that it was still chugging happily along.

Since then, a few other iterations of the Henry have been released, although they’re all broadly the same idea. Some of those are also discounted for Black Friday:

The Henry Xtra has had £51 knocked off its list price for Black Friday. This is a larger-capacity option, with a longer stretch hose and more detail tools. View Deal

Really want the classic red colour? You’ll need to shell out another £20. This is the same vacuum as the one I’ve focused on in the main article, with the 6L capacity and 2.2m stretch hose. View Deal

If you ever wondered what Henry on Ozempic might look like, let me introduce you to Henry Quick. This cordless stick vacuum still has the face, signature red colour, and still uses a bag, but otherwise it’s quite different from its canister siblings. In our Henry Quick Cordless review, my tester was impressed with the scent booster and good battery life. View Deal
