We’re still technically a couple of weeks out from the official start of Black Friday sales in Australia, yet it seems Optus is one of many retailers that didn’t get the memo, as it’s currently offering up to 50% off as part of its Black Friday deals until December 1.
As one of Australia’s ‘big three’ telcos, there aren’t any prizes for guessing what sort of deals you can expect, but with savings galore across SIM plans, phones, tablets and even NBN plans, you can win in other ways in the Optus Black Friday sale.

If you’re in the market for a new iPhone but don’t have bottomless pockets, this Optus Black Friday deal on the iPhone 16e should grab your attention. You can save 50% off the cost of the handset when you connect to a 24- or 36-month contract. Prices for the phone start at AU$13.86p/m for the 128GB model, and you can save a further 30% off a SIM plan for the first 12 months. Taking the small 50GB plan as an example, your monthly total would be AU$52.36.

Optus Fast NBN | 500Mbps TES | AU$84p/m (first 12 months, then AU$99p/m)
Optus has also slashed AU$15 off all its NBN plans for the first 12 months, and it’s the NBN 500 that excites me the most. Claiming maximum download speeds during the busier evening hours, for a monthly cost roughly AU$10 cheaper than the current average, makes this a great deal. Do note that you’ll need to remain connected for 36 months to receive Optus’ modem for free, or you can BYO.
