My favorite laptop of the year is $200 off right now ahead of Black Friday

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025) is my favorite laptop of the year, personally, and right now it’s on sale for just $799.99 at Best Buy, a $200 markdown. If you’re looking for a fantastic Windows alternative to the MacBook Air 13-inch, this is one of the best you’re going to find if you care more about the design than landing a high-performance laptop.

With Black Friday deals rolling out now, this is the first I’ve seen for the Surface Laptop 13-inch so far, and given its already great list price, this discount makes it even better. What you get is a highly portable 13-inch ultrabook with an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB memory, and a 512GB SSD, but the real selling point here is the stunning violet colorway option that makes it one of the best-looking laptops I’ve ever seen.

Today’s best Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025) Black Friday deal

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch is one of the best-looking Windows laptops on the market, and its Snapdragon X Plus processor is perfect for everyday computing, schoolwork, and productivity. It’s even better now that it’s $200 off at Best Buy for Black Friday. View Deal

The Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025) is positioned as a Windows alternative to the MacBook Air 13-inch, and while it doesn’t quite compete with Apple’s most popular laptop on the performance front, it still does more than enough for most people and it looks great while doing so.

Just don’t expect fantastic gaming or creative performance out of this device, as the Qualcomm chip that powers it isn’t really up to those kinds of tasks. If what you’re looking for, though, is everyday computing, schoolwork, or productivity, this laptop is more than capable of meeting those expectations, especially thanks to its 16GB memory and 512GB SSD.
