My Black Friday action cam deal pick isn’t a GoPro – it’s this superb DJI model

If you’re on a shoestring but still hoping to bag a superb action camera, then I have the Black Friday deal for you: the Osmo Action 4 Essential Combo for just $209 at Amazon (was $299) in the US, or the Osmo Action 4 Essential Combo for £159 at Amazon (was £279) in the UK.

Yes, DJI has since released the Osmo Action 5 and Osmo Action 6, but its product launches are so regular that cameras two iterations back, such as the Osmo Action 4, are still worth recommending today. After all, the Action 4 is only two years old and shoots some of the crispest 4K video you’ll get from a tiny action cam, supported by some of the best waterproofing in the business – trust me I’ve personally tested it.

For the money, I reckon you’ll struggle to find a better action cam. Need more ideas? I’ve also put together Black Friday DJI deals and Black Friday 360 camera deal roundups with a range of other discounted action cams, and make sure you check out TechRadar’s live Black Friday coverage for other tech bargains.

Today’s best DJI Osmo Action 4 deals

Despite being superseded by 5th and 6th generation models, the Osmo Action 4 packs many of the same features for a lower price, and is still a seriously capable action camera with 4K video and waterproofing up to 18m. The Standard Combo is down to $209 – not quite matching the previous lowest price of $199 from earlier this week. Meanwhile, the Adventure Combo is $309. View Deal

I reckon this is the best action camera deal for Black Friday 2025 so far – just £159 for the Standard Combo. That beats the previous low price of £175. The Adventure Combo is also on sale for £259 (was £379) – that’s another record-low price for a bundle which includes two additional batteries and charging case.

Why am I recommending an action cam that is two iterations old? Naturally, price is a factor – there are huge discounts on DJI’s former flagship action cam so it can be had for much less than the Action 5 Pro and recent Action 6. And at two years old, it’s actually not that old at all, and still measures up well today.

I was deeply impressed by the 4K-shooting action cam, as you can see in my DJI Osmo Action 4 review. In fact, I also wrote about why it’s my favorite camera to take on vacation and it consequently secured a spot in my best action cameras guide, until it was replaced by its successor.

The fact that it went up against the GoPro Hero 12 Black and Insta360 Ace Pro back then, with better 18m waterproofing and a larger image sensor for better low-light performance, and those cameras are still much pricier today, says it all really – you won’t get a better action cam for the money.

Still, if you’d like to find more options, I’ve included a couple of 360 camera deals below which are likewise older models that have been heavily discounted for Black Friday.

Other cheap action cam deals

The X3 is now two generations old and tops out at 5.7K video, whereas its successors can shoot 8K. However, don’t write the X3 off – its still an excellent 360 camera, with the same powerful Insta360 image stabilization, 33ft / 10m waterproofing, bullet time and time shift modes, editing software and handy accessories. This is still a better camera than Akaso’s 360, and my top budget pick.

You can grab the same price at the Insta360 store.View Deal

I couldn’t believe my eyes… £200 off the six-year-old GoPro Max makes it the UK’s most affordable 360 camera. Despite its age, the Max still performs well, shooting crisp 5.3K 360 video, and is an excellent value pick with this huge price cut. Naturally, it is directly compatible with GoPro’s vast range of accessories. If you’re serious about a 360 camera, though, you might want to consider the GoPro Max 2 instead, now available for £349 at Amazon.View Deal
