I loved this Sony Dolby Atmos soundbar when I tested it, and it’s back to its record-low price

One of the best things about Black Friday shopping is seeing the return of great deals on some of the best soundbars that we recommend at TechRadar. It looks like Black Friday is happening early this year, because I’ve already spotted the Sony HT-S2000 Dolby Atmos soundbar for $298 (was $499) at Amazon.

Amazon’s deal on the Sony is nearly as good in the UK. Right now, you can find the Sony HT-S2000 for £299 (was £449) at Amazon, a 33% discount on the regular price.

These Amazon sales knock the Sony HT-S2000 back to the record-low price it hit during last year’s Black Friday deals. Sony gear typically doesn’t get deep discounts, which is why Amazon’s 40% off sale price in the US and 33% off in the UK are notable deals.

If you’re in the market for a compact Dolby Atmos soundbar in the under-$500 / £500 range, you really can’t do much better than the HT-S2000.

Sony’s Dolby Atmos soundbar is back to its record-low price ahead of Black Friday. This compact 3.1-channel model has topped TechRadar’s best soundbars list as the best budget option for several years straight. It supports both the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtrack formats and uses Bluetooth for music streaming. At $298, a 40% discount, this deal is too good to pass up if you’re looking to add a solid, budget-priced soundbar to your TV.View Deal

In my Sony HT-S2000 review, I found that it delivered an impressive level of immersion for a compact 3.1-channel soundbar. Dialogue was notably clearer than in more basic 2.1-channel models, and I appreciated that it could be upgraded to full surround sound by adding Sony’s optional wireless rear speakers and subwoofer.

Other highlights from the review were the Sony’s impressive virtual processing of the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats, solid bass given its compact size, and good overall performance with music.

There’s a very good reason why the Sony HT-S2000 has long dominated as the best budget option in our best soundbars guide. You really can’t do better for an Atmos-capable soundbar at this price, so there’s no need to look further!
