7 exquisite storage deals I’m bookmarking for Black Friday

I’m tracking the best tech bargains in the run-up to Black Friday, and so far I’ve found some great deals That said, not everything I would like to see on sale has had a price cut (yet), and that’s true with some of my favorite storage products.

Whether you need huge capacity for backups, fast NVMe performance for creative tasks or gaming, or something portable for travel, there are some great choices available to consider.

The products I’m currently bookmarking include Seagate’s Expansion 28TB desktop drive, which is ideal for massive media libraries and long-term archiving, and the Seagate Barracuda 24TB which offers reliable high-capacity storage for desktop builds.

If you prefer something portable, the Seagate 5TB external drive remains a dependable everyday option for Windows and Mac.

Those looking for speed will want to check out Samsung’s NVMe range. The 990 EVO Plus 1TB delivers excellent Gen4 performance at a budget-friendly price, and the 990 Pro 2TB offers top-tier speeds suited to creative workloads. The Crucial P310 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD is also worth a look, offering strong read and write performance for a lower cost.

For creators on the move, the SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD combines fast transfers with rugged IP65 protection.

Some of these storage devices have had price reductions in readiness for Black Friday, but I’m optimistic we’ll see bigger drops – and I’ve also compared the prices now with those from Black Friday 2024, to get an idea of what can be expected.

Black Friday storage deals: FAQs and buying advice

When does Black Friday and Cyber Monday start and end?

Officially, Black Friday 2025 begins on November 28 and wraps up at the end of Cyber Monday on December 1. You don’t necessarily need to wait until then to score a great deal – as you’ve probably noticed, many retailers are already discounting products. If you want to beat the rush and secure a deal before stock runs low, now’s the perfect time to start looking.

What storage deal should I choose during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

That depends on what you need it for. If you are a student, individual or small business, look for a simple, reliable drive with fast read speeds and at least 1TB of space for documents, photos and everyday backups.

Creators who work with large media files should focus on high speed NVMe SSDs or sturdy portable SSDs, as these offer faster transfers and smoother editing.

Professionals handling big projects or large archives should consider high capacity external drives or multi terabyte internal HDDs, paying attention to long term reliability and overall workload demands.

What features should I check when selecting the right laptop deal?

When comparing storage deals, check speed first. NVMe SSDs are faster than SATA SSDs (these are far less popular these days), and portable SSDs are usually quicker than portable hard drives.

Capacity matters too, so make sure the drive has enough space for your files or projects. Look at durability for portable drives, and check the connection type so it matches your laptop or PC. Finally, consider warranty length and any included data recovery services.

While you’re here, check our recommendations for the fastest SSDs, best portable SSDs, and largest SSDs and hard drives.

How can I find the best laptop deals during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

1. Bookmark this page
As an unshakable deal-hunter, I’ll be updating this page throughout the sales season, so you’ll be able to see if a product has dropped in price or not.

2. Know your needs before buying
The best advice I can give is to decide what you actually need before clicking “add to cart.” Are you looking for something portable, a fast everyday drive, or high capacity storage for heavier workloads? Matching the drive to what you actually need gives you real value instead of just the cheapest option.

3. Value over price
A cheap drive is not always the best choice. Stick to trusted brands with solid reviews, since reliability matters more with storage than almost anything else. Look at warranty terms, real world performance and long term durability. The magnificent seven storage products here are on my list because they tick all the right boxes.
