This Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop is $500 off today and it features not just an RTX 5060, but also an OLED screen

Has the demise of Windows 10 made you realise you need to upgrade your existing rig? For gamers, I’ve spotted one of the best gaming laptop deals and one I’d certainly be tempted to buy if I was looking to upgrade.

Today, you can buy the Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop at Walmart for $1,049.99 (was $1,549.99). The considerable $500 saving is even better when you factor in that the laptop has an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, and an OLED screen. As an avid user of an OLED panel, the picture quality truly looks fantastic thanks to such technology.

Being able to buy such a feature-rich laptop for a shade over $1,000 is a tempting one for sure. It should set you up nicely with gaming on the move as Lenovo is one of the better gaming laptop brands around. My gaming laptop is a Lenovo one and I have no complaints.

Today’s best gaming laptop deal

The Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop is a good looking and powerful laptop for the price. It has an AMD Ryzen 7 260 Octa-Core CPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 512GB SSD alongside its RTX 5060 GPU. More RAM and storage would possibly be useful here but the core components from the CPU and GPU mean this is good value for the price. Its gorgeous 15.1-inch OLED screen has a 165Hz refresh rate and there’s a great looking backlit keyboard with speedy response times. View Deal

Lenovo is responsible for many of the best gaming laptops. While we don’t have a review for this specific model, we have many good things to say about the Lenovo Legion 5i and the Lenovo Legion 5 Slim with similar extras included with the Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop.

This model has some strong foundations with its AMD Ryzen 7 260 CPU and GeForce RTX 5060 GPU. Its 16GB RAM is respectable for the latest games right now and there’s also 512GB of SSD storage. The latter means you’re unlikely to have dozens of the latest games installed at once (bearing in mind Call of Duty uses over 100GB alone), but it’s fine for having a handful of games installed at once.

The 15.1-inch OLED screen is a particular delight with blacks looking deeper and colors looking more vibrant, while it’s a surprisingly slim and thin laptop given what it’s packing. At this price, it’s almost as cheap as the best cheap gaming laptops so it’s a strong investment.

There are other laptop deals around if you prefer a more productivity-focused device. There are some great MacBook deals too if you’d rather use macOS.
