My favorite cheap soundbar is available for less than $100 / £90 this Prime Day – don’t miss out

Looking for a cheap soundbar that doesn’t skimp on quality? Well, thanks to October’s Prime Day deals, you can grab the excellent Sony HT-S100F for just $98 (was $159.99) at Amazon US.

And fear not, UK readers! On the other side of the pond, this soundbar is known as the Sony HT-SF150, and is only £84 (was £99) at Amazon UK. That’s a brilliant price on a bar that can offer a significant improvement on plain TV audio

I’ve tested a large number of cheap soundbars here at TechRadar, but this model is easily one of the best value options. You’ll get clear dialogue, surprisingly solid bass, and virtual surround sound processing. For less than $100 / £90, you really can’t go wrong! However, Amazon Prime Day will end tomorrow, so make sure you snap this soundbar up for less, while you still can!

Today’s best Sony HT-S100F deal in the US

If your TV’s built-in sound just isn’t cutting it anymore, the Sony HT-S100F could be the budget-friendly upgrade you need. With dedicated sound modes for movies and music, virtual surround sound processing, and a range of connectivity options, its the ideal entry-level soundbar. At almost 40% off, you’re looking at a true bargain.View Deal

Today’s best Sony HT-SF150 deal in the UK

I really enjoyed my time testing out the Sony HT-SF150, which is outrageously good for what is currently a sub-£85 soundbar. In fact, I’d put it right up there with some of the best cheap soundbars around, especially when you consider the effectiveness of its virtual surround sound processing and inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity for playing music. Pair that with its attractive looks, and you’ll get plenty of bang for your buck.View Deal

In my Sony HT-SF150 review, I was full of praise for the soundbar, highlighting how its “audio has solid clarity and width”, how its build quality is higher than you’d expect for the price, and how there are plenty of sound modes to play around with.

This soundbar harnesses the power of Sony’s proprietary S-Force Front Surround virtual processing, which endeavors to emulate “cinema-style surround sound.” Of course, you won’t get that theater-like effect you’d expect from a premium multi-box system – think the Samsung HW-Q990F – but for its size, this model puts up an admirably expansive performance.

It was already excellent value at the point of launch, so given that its on sale this Prime Day, it’s a must-buy for anyone looking to upgrade from basic TV audio this October.
