Finally! Amazon slashes Kindle prices ahead of Prime Day – save up to 30% on the colorsoft, scribe, and more

The second Amazon Prime Day, otherwise known as the catchy ‘Prime Big Deal Days’ sale, is just a few days away now, and the retailer is already offering record-low prices on its popular Kindle ereaders this weekend.

Included in the retailer’s early Prime Day deals are discounts on the Kindle Scribe, Paperwhite, and other popular models – all of which you can check out just down below, with sections for both the US and UK.

Highlights include the high-end Scribe on sale for $299 (was $399) / £269 (was £379), Kindle Kids models starting at $94 (was $129) / £84 (was £114), and the excellent Colorsoft for a record-low price of £169 (was £239) in the UK.

As with previous Prime Days, these early Kindle deals are part of the retailer’s warm-up event, which always focuses on its own-brand tablet, smart home, and TV products. These early deals usually don’t get any lower over the actual sales event, so don’t feel like you have to hold-out for any further discounts.

Note that some of the early Prime Day Kindle deals require you to be a Prime member for access. If you’re not a member, then you can sign up for a free 30-day trial at no cost. That will cover you for next week’s big sale, too.

Early Prime Day Kindle deals in the US

This Essentials bundle gets you everything you need with the excellent Kindle Paperwhite, including a faux-leather case and power adaptor. At just $1 more than the standalone Kindle Paperwhite at Amazon, this is the lowest price yet for the Essentials bundle. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap Kindle, then the Paperwhite is a good place to start with its larger seven-inch display, waterproof design, and adjustable warm-light filter.View Deal

Here’s another early Prime-member exclusive deal, this time on the Signature bundle. This higher-end option includes not only a case and an upgraded 32GB capacity Paperwhite, but also a wireless charging dock. At $195, it’s $30 pricier than the baseline Paperwhite, but today’s deal brings the bundle to its lowest-ever price. View Deal

Deals on the popular Kindle Colorsoft have been rare, but this excellent early Prime Day deal gets you almost $100 off the Essentials bundle. As with the other bundles, you get a handy power adaptor and faux-leather case here as well as the 16GB Kindle Colorsoft itself. If you enjoy illustrations or a touch of color, then this is the model to go for – although you definitely pay a premium versus the standard black-and-white Paperwhite model.View Deal

Arguably, the best early Prime Day Kindle deal is on the top-of-the-line Amazon Kindle Scribe. It’s the priciest model (aside from the new color variant), but today’s deal brings it right down to a brand-new record-low price. This particular model isn’t just a premium ereader, but also a digital notebook that’s perfect for doodling or taking notes.View Deal

The cheapest Kindle deal on Amazon right now is this excellent discount on the latest Amazon Kindle Kids version. Simply put, this model is functionally the same as the standard Kindle but comes with a Kid-friendly cover, a six-month trial for Amazon Kids Plus, and an extended two-year warranty. Regardless of whether you’re a small or big kid, this is a great deal on the baseline Kindle.View Deal

Similar to the above deal on the standard Kindle, the cheapest Kindle Paperwhite deal available at Amazon today is on the Kids Edition variant. Again, the device is functionally the same as the standard Kindle Paperwhite, but you get a themed cover, a six-month trial of Amazon Kids+, and an extended warranty.View Deal

Lastly, but certainly not least, a trio of Kindle Kid deals is complete with this record-low discount on the Colorsoft Kids model. You’ll be able to view all your favorite comics, graphic novels, and illustrated books in color with this particular model, and you’ll also get a kid-themed cover, extended warranty, and a free six-month trial of Kids+.View Deal

Early Prime Day Kindle deals in the UK

The best early Prime Day Kindle deal in the UK is this £70 discount on the Kindle Colorsoft – a brand new record-low price, no less. Up until this point, good discounts on this model have been quite rare, so this is a good opportunity to get the brand’s first-ever colour Kindle, with a seven-inch display, 16GB of capacity, and multi-week battery life. View Deal

The cheapest early Prime Day Kindle deal in the UK is on the standard Kindle Kids edition – a pretty good buy, even if you’re not a kid. Functionally, this model is identical to the standard version, although it does come with a kid-themed case and an extended free trial of the Kids Plus subscription service. With £30 off, this is a new record-low price on this model.View Deal

Discounts on the standard Paperwhite are annoyingly absent today at Amazon, but the retailer is offering a superb discount on the Paperwhite Kids version. You’re essentially getting the same e-reader here, but with the choice between two kid-themed covers, an extended warranty, and a free Kids Plus trial. View Deal

The priciest, and arguably most desirable, Kindle model is on sale for a record-low price in today’s early Prime Day deals at Amazon. The Kindle Scribe is a great option if you like to take notes or doodle, as it not only features an expansive 10.2-inch glare-free display, but also doubles up as a handy digital notebook. View Deal
