Looking for the right smartphone or tablet stand? A quick Amazon search will present you with an onslaught of options made of different materials, offering varying features, and at a plethora of price points. How fancy does a stand have to be, though? If you want something that simply works for as little money as possible, the Moko Phone/Tablet Stand may be what you are looking for. We’ve been testing it for a couple of weeks, and we are here to tell you all about it.

The Moko Phone/Tablet Stand is simple to understand (the definition is in the name). It’s a contraption that helps prop your smartphone or tablet up. It is especially helpful if you need to use your device while your hands are busy. We found ourselves mostly taking advantage of it while cooking or multi-tasking. This accessory made it simple to watch a video on a phone while also working on a laptop, for example. I also loved using it to view recipe videos while cooking.

The possibilities are endless. But what makes the Moko Phone/Tablet Stand really special? Let’s dig into that in the next sections.

Moko Phone/Tablet Stand design and build

The Moko stand isn’t as fancy or sturdy as the metal stands we usually recommend. In fact, it has a very questionable build quality. It’s made of cheap plastic, has thin parts that feel easily breakable, and we can’t promise the hinges and moving parts will last long. These are the same reasons why the Moko Phone/Tablet Stand is so affordable, though. It’s among the most affordable products of its kind to hit our review table.

Said plastic might not be able to damage products and flat surfaces much, but there is strategically placed rubber padding to keep your expensive devices safe. You know, just in case.

Since build quality isn’t exactly the Moko stand’s strength, there are other elements that make it exciting. This accessory is extremely light at just 1.09oz. It can also be folded and measures just 3.26 x 2.8 x 0.5 inches in its closed position. You can literally pocket this thing and carry it around.

When unfolded, the angle can be adjusted by inserting the backplate into a series of slots. They have markings that specify angle degrees, just in case you want to get specific with your viewing angles. That’s some pretty cool functionality if you ask us. The Moko Phone/Tablet Stand offers features most expensive competitors lack.

I would be lying if I said I was impressed by the Moko Phone/Tablet Stand when I first saw it. In fact, my first impressions were pretty bad. Even so, I had to give it a chance and quickly started seeing its appeal.

For starters, this stand is as light and portable as they get. Few competitors come close to Moko’s portability. I was able to throw it in my shirt pocket and not even feel it while going about my daily business. It was a convenient tool to have at all times. Other stands are bulky and often don’t even fit comfortably in large laptop bags.

Having the flexibility to adjust the angle was also very nice, even if you can only go from 60-75 degrees. And while build quality is lacking, I never felt like the Moko stand was going to break apart on me. It was able to handle phones easily.

With tablets, I had a bit more of an issue. The stand is pretty narrow, and it would often move from side to side. The Moko Phone/Tablet Stand is very low so I never felt like the Amazon Fire HD 10 would fall over. However, if propped up in portrait mode, the stand would lose its balance and the tablet would fall back. You will have to get something bigger and more stable to hold a large tablet in portrait orientation.

I liked the fact the Moko stand nearly disappears when in use. It’s so small, thin, and low that you can barely see the front edge. Other stands are prominent and look bulky. The Moko Phone/Tablet Stand is great at keeping a low profile and blending in with the environment.

There are definitely better quality stands out there, but we believe the Moko Phone/Tablet Stand is still a worthy buy. It is functional, easy to use, and gets the job done. It does so very cheaply, at that. This accessory costs just $5.99, and it can often be found on special for even less. Those looking to stock up can also get a 4-pack for a mere $12.99! That’s a heck of a deal, and the accessory is very much worth the price.

If anything, you might want to get this as an additional stand you can carry around with you at all times. The bigger, more solid ones can live on your desk while this one stays close to you on your daily adventures. Plus, it’s so cheap that it won’t hurt much if it ends up breaking.
