How to watch Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 on January 14

Samsung holds a few hardware events each year, typically unveiling their newest lineup in February, with devices launching later in the spring. This year Unpacked is arriving earlier than usual, and needless to say, we’re pretty excited about the upcoming virtual event. Samsung is expected to unveil the new Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup as well as the Galaxy Buds Pro and new SmartTags, so you need never worry about losing your wallet or keys again.

Interested in checking out the event for yourself? Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 hardware event.

How to watch Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 will take place on January 14 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. There are a few ways that you can tune in, but by far the easiest way to watch the event is to head to the Samsung website and livestream it. The livestream will also be available to view on YouTube.

What to expect from Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021

The most highly anticipated launch at Unpacked is the new Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup. We’re expecting to see three different models unveiled: The S21 with its 6.2-inch screen, the S21+ with its 6.7-inch screen, and the 6.8-inch S21 Ultra. So what do we know so far? Samsung hasn’t yet made any official announcements, of course, but we’ve already seen renders that apparently show the design of the upcoming phones.

Rumor has it the S21 will sport a brand-new design with improved camera features and a 10x optical zoom. There’s also word that the S21 Ultra may be the successor to the Galaxy Note lineup as leaks have shown a case for the phone with a holder for the S Pen. However, unlike the Note Series, the S21 Ultra isn’t likely to ship with the S Pen — so you’ll probably need to buy it separately.

The entire lineup will likely also include a 120Hz display and use the newest Snapdragon processor available in the U.S., the Snapdragon 888 — or the Exynos 2100 elsewhere in the world — which Samsung promises offers extended battery life and faster 5G performance.

We’re also expecting other hardware, including the launch of Samsung Galaxy SmartTags, slim Bluetooth trackers you can attach to your keys, remote, or wallet — or anything you routinely lose — to keep track of them. The rumored $18-20 price tag is likely to make this an attractive accessory for anyone who already owns a Samsung phone.

Last, but by no means least, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro are likely to drop at this week’s Unpacked event too. With improved active noise cancellation (ANC) with an adjustable ambient mode, they’ll also have a new voice-detect feature that puts them into ambient mode while simultaneously dropping the volume level so you can hear what’s going on around you. They look like a slightly smaller version of the Galaxy Buds+ but their wireless charging case is almost identical to the one that comes with the Buds Live.

The Buds Pro should be available to buy in Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, and Mystic Violet to complement the new colors of the S21 lineup — and it’s possible they’ll be included for free if you pick up a new S21 device.
