Do you still use a Wear OS smartwatch in 2020?

If you’re looking for a new smartwatch here in mid-2020, there are a ton of options available to you. From Wear OS to Fitbit and Galaxy Watches to Garmin wearables, your choices are seemingly endless.

One of our AC forum members recently shared that they’re in the market for a new smartwatch, but given everything that’s out there, they aren’t exactly sure where to turn to. They said that they’re looking for something powered by Wear OS, but this quickly got some of our other members to counter that point with other suggestions.

Does it have to be Android Wear? Hard to recommend any of those over either an Apple Watch or a Samsung one. The Samsung Active 2 should be within your budget, especially if you wait until the Watch 3 is announced (which probably will bring down the price of the Active 2 or at least show some promos for it).

Yeah, Wear OS is still pretty mediocre — I just prefer it for the wider variety of hardware and the “Googleness” of it. Most Samsung watch owners really like theirs — from what I understand, they’re a lot smoother and have better performance. They should be compatible with non-Samsung phones as well.
