What you need to know

  • The Samsung Galaxy S20 “Fan Edition” will reportedly be priced at $750.
  • It is expected to feature a triple-camera setup at the rear, with a 12MP primary sensor.
  • Samsung expects to ship 5 million units of the phone by the end of this year.

A recent leak had shed some light on the tech specs of Samsung’s rumored Galaxy S20 “Fan Edition,” which is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of the year. Now, a report out of South Korea has revealed a few more details, including the phone’s possible price tag.

According to the report from The Elec, Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition in October and expects to ship around 5 million units by the end of 2020. The phone is tipped to be priced at KRW 900,000 ($750), which is $100 more than the Galaxy S10 Lite.

In the camera department, the report claims the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will not be a massive upgrade over the S10 Lite. It is tipped to sport a triple-camera setup on the back, featuring a 12MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, however, the S20 Fan Edition will have a similar 32MP sensor up front as its predecessor.

Despite its higher price tag, the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition might actually offer better value for money than the Galaxy S10 Lite. Rumors suggest the phone will be powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset as the Galaxy S20 series. In addition to being powered by the same chipset, the S20 Fan Edition is also rumored to come with a 120Hz Infinity-O display and IP68 dust/water resistance.
