A good look at what Sony’s new controller can do.

Today, Geoff Keighley, host of the Game Awards, Opening Night Live at Gamescom and Summer Game Fest, provided the first hands-on demonstration of the new DualSense controller coming with the PS5. In addition to some comparisons with the DualShock 4, Keighley showed gameplay from the upcoming Astro’s Playroom, a small title preinstalled on every PlayStation 5. You can check out the full demonstration below.

The DualSense includes a larger battery than the DualShock 4 and uses Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback for more immersive gameplay. While it’s unclear what third-party support will look like, teams at Sony Worldwide Studios working on games like Horizon Forbidden West and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will likely use all these new features. The PS5 and the DualSense are both expected to launch at some point in Holiday 2020.
