According to Statista, there should be 258,2 billion downloads of Smartphone-Apps worldwide by 2022.

That would be an increment of more than 44% regarding that 2017, there were about 178,1 billion downloads.

However, there’re some apps responsible for that high number of downloads.

But which are these apps?

If you want to find out the most downloaded iPhone Apps by January 2020, here they are:

1.    Tik Tok #1 in Entertainment

Tik Tok is an awesome app that lets you create and share lip-sync videos or short movie scenes.

The app is so popular worldwide and gained even more popularity over the last months that many people use it all the time.

Millions of users install the app every day and use it on average for one hour a day to watch short videos.

2.    YouTube #2 in Photo and Video

YouTube is a video sharing platform founded in 2005 by the US company YouTube LLC, which is a Google company since 2006. Users can view, rate, comment on and upload video clips on the portal free of charge.

All in all, they’ve two billion active users per month. PewDiePie, a gamer who publishes his gaming videos on YouTube, made 13 million dollars through YouTube. In 2014, YouTube itself made about four billion US dollars in sales, mostly through ads. In 2019, YouTube achieved annual sales of 15 billion dollars.

Instagram is an online photo and video sharing service that is part of Facebook.

No surprise, Facebook is the biggest competition to Google.

Kuaishou’s predecessor, “GIF Kuaishou”, was founded in March 2011. GIF Kuaishou was an app to make and share GIFs. In 2012, Kuaishou transformed into a short video community, and a platform for users to record and share videos depicting their everyday lives.

They have about 200 million active daily users.

Regarding this, Amazon definitely should be on this list. However, Amazon’s App achieve #3 in shopping category.
