Top 5 Highly Recommended PlayStation VR Games

Share

The “PSVR” or “PlayStation VR” is Sony’s special hardware offering a more immersive gaming experience through their virtual reality headset, which is compatible with their home video game console, the PlayStation 4. Although it was released three years ago, the PSVR still seems to sell off the shelves with it being the second best-selling VR headset today. And despite a still-developing VR market, Sony announced that it had officially sold 4.2 million PlayStation VR Systems all over the globe as of March 2019.

Nonetheless, what’s even more exciting for the PlayStation fans out there is that Sony has just announced that it will be launching its fifth generation of PlayStation by the latter part of 2020. What’s even better? PSVR will be getting an upgrade too. With the just approved “Data Processing” patent that Sony Interactive Entertainment filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, it’s most likely that we will be expecting that the upgrade will have a new wireless hardware that will have three built-in cameras (two at the front and one at the back), a motion detection technology, a built-in power supply and microphone with its own video/audio signal source which means speakers will finally be built-in.

But if you still have the original PSVR headset, no need to worry because it will still be compatible with the PlayStation 5 so it’s not going to be obsolete. You can still enjoy playing the latest VR games with your still perfectly fine PSVR 1.0 device.

As Virtual Reality gains more popularity among the gaming community and with the recent advancements in graphics resolution, pixel count, sound quality, motion detection, and compatibility, our eyes are all set at coping the best and highly recommended VR games in the market today.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission

If you’re looking for a similar game like Super Mario 3D World, then put your VR headset on and indulge yourself in Astro Bot Rescue Mission as it takes you to a world of bots and toys. It’s 26 levels of fun-packed Mario-like adventure where the sense of space and physicality will impress you! It completely enhances your virtual reality gaming experience as it showcases an almost 360-degree plane of vision where you can turn and look anywhere at any time and you’ll surely be delighted to see how it is incredibly visually detailed.

Iron Man

For Marvel fans out there, if you miss Iron Man after The Avengers: Endgame, this is your chance to suit up and play Iron Man as himself with this all-new Marvel’s Iron Man VR, an upcoming shooter video game, which is scheduled to launch on February 28, 2020. Prepare to blast off and jet around the virtual skies as you battle it down with an army of bad guys and face it off with this game version’s antagonist, Ghost.

Firewall Zero Hour

Looking for an immersive online multiplayer virtual reality shooter game? Check out Firewall Zero Hour, a first-person tactical action shooter game that you can play online with a couple of friends. Firewall Zero Hour is popular for giving off that sense of reality and “believability” in playing co-op shooter games. There’s nothing more immersive than physically ducking and leaning on virtual objects to dodge a bullet or to aim at opponents. Not convinced yet?  It was inspired by Rainbow Six Siege and it was also nominated as the “Best VR Game” and “Best Co-operative Game” at the 2018 Golden Joystick Awards.

Tetris Effect

Tetris is a classic game that can be played by people of all ages. But what if we tell you that this 2-dimensional game has a VR release? That’s right, now everybody can experience this tile-matching puzzle game on a whole other level. With Tetris Effect, experience a trance that just puts you in an entirely different world (and mood!) with distinctive music and visuals tailored to every level whilst playing an old-time favorite classic game.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

What is the point of getting a VR headset if you can’t play your favorite horror movie/game in a seemingly real environment? As you step into this survival horror game, get ready to see the creepiest and most horrifying imagery of cannibalistic horror where the main character, Ethan, goes on a frantic search for his wife in this purportedly “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” type of setting. This is not your typical jump-scare horror, this is exactly what nightmares are made of!
