Google slashed the prices of its affordable Pixel 3a series on Amazon ahead of Black Friday. The smaller Pixel 3a has been discounted by 25% and now selling for $299, down from its usual $399 price. On the other hand, Google has taken $80 off the Pixel 3a XL bringing it to $379 from $469. The deal is expected to run until December 2 and is valid across all the color variants of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
Google introduced more economical, stripped-down spinoffs of its flagship Pixel 3 lineup last year with the Pixel 3a launch. However, apart from a few performance downgrades, there are barely any noticeable compromises. Both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have the same, outstanding set of cameras that even some of the most expensive phones haven’t been able to catch up to yet.
There’s a 12-megapixel sensor on the back and an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies. On top of that, Google rolled out the latest Pixel 4’s astrophotography mode for the Pixel 3a phones which lets you capture shots of the night skies without any special, high-end hardware.
In our reviews of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, we also found that thanks to a lower-end chipset, these phones were able to last longer on a single charge than their more premium counterparts. Fast-charging over USB Type-C is available, too, although they can’t be topped up wirelessly.

The Pixel 3a phones are unquestionably the best budget camera phones. However, there are a handful of downsides you should keep in mind. They are not as fast as a bunch of other similarly priced phones like the ones from OnePlus. Plus, their screens have thick bezels and don’t go edge-to-edge.
