The most physical PlayStation VR games

Share

If games like Dance Dance Revolution and Just Dance have taught us anything it’s that putting a little pep in your step always leads to a good time. If you are looking to punch your way to fitness playing Creed: Rise to Glory or burn through calories with Beat Saber, you are sure to find a game that will help you break a sweat.

Glory awaits

Staff pick

Creed: Rise to Glory is one of the very best boxing games I have ever played. The boxing mechanic requires precision and skill from you, and that precision costs you calories. Creed is a game to sweat to, it’s a real workout.

Beat Saber

I spent two weeks playing Beat Saber for one hour every weekday and ended up losing about 15lbs. If you give this game 110% it will reward you with weight loss and good feels. Plus, it is so much fun you forget its good for you too.

Sprint Vector

Sprint Vector has you racing against your friends to see who can make it across the finish line first. It really is a race too. You’ll feel like you are rollerblading on the spot as you swing your arms and feel the burn!

Knockout League

$20 at the PlayStation Store

Ok, Creed is awesome but can be a little serious. If you a looking for a good workout that’s a little more fun, try Knockout League. You get to fight an octopus in boxing gloves. It’s awesome.

Future pong

Sparc

$20 at the PlayStation Store

Sparc is one of my favorite VR games and the first one to really give me a workout. The game requires you to throw an energy ball against an opponent while dodging his attacks. It is intense and very tiring over long periods. It’s well worth having in your library.

Rumble in the yard!

Rec Room

Free at the PlayStation Store

While Rec Room is probably the least athletic of these games, it does have a lot of activities that can be much more energetic if you want them to be. With Rec Room what you put in will dertimine how much sweat you will drip.

Feel the Pump

VR is a great way to intwine fitness and video games. Games like Sparc will help you work up a sweat, and if you do them for a sustained period — say 30 minutes or more — will help you lose weight are just get more fit.

For the most energetic and calorie burning game though, you really need to get Creed: Rise to Glory. The energy and focus the game requires is immense as and as Russell Holly says in his review it will make your body hurt, but you’ll love it.
