These are the best battery packs to use with the Galaxy S10

Share

The Samsung Galaxy S10 offers a bigger battery than last year’s flagship, therefore you should expect better performance. Then again, if you’re using your phone for 10 hours or more in a day or you’re a frequent traveler, a portable battery pack is a must-have source of power for whenever you need it. We’ve rounded up the most reliable battery packs for the Galaxy S10.

It’s all built in

Ventev PowerCell 6010+

Staff pick

This Ventev powerpack doesn’t offer USB-C Power Delivery and at 6000mAh it’s the smallest on our list. But what it lacks in charging efficiency it gains back in pure convenience. The design features a built-in USB-C cable, folding AC prongs, and the ability to charge two devices at once using the USB-A port. It recharges in just 4 hours plugged directly into the wall, and can also be used as a wall charger for your S10 in a pinch. It’s my go-to portable battery for all my tech that I take with me everywhere.

Pocket PD power

Anker PowerCore 10000 PD

Anker’s PowerCore+ bank may be a bit much for everyday carry, but if you prefer your portable batteries to be actually portable, this model is easily pocketable. Despite the compact look, it’s still a PowerCore, allowing you to quickly top off your dying phone with 18W Power Delivery charging without having a bulky brute weighing down your backpack or jeans pocket.

Charge three ways

Omni Mobile 12,800mAh Omnicharge Power Bank

This is the power bank I carry in the parks most often with my Galaxy S10, and I do it because it’s just so gosh-darn versatile. It’s got 60W USB-C Power Delivery charging to recharge my dying Chromebook, a QC 3.0 port for quickly charging the S10 at the same time, and Qi wireless charging, so I can still charge the S10 even if my dumb butt forgot a cable at home.

Samsung’s own

Samsung Fast Charge 5100mAh Battery Pack

samsung-fast-charge-battery-pack-press.j

Samsung’s portable battery offering is nice and compact with a handy loop for clipping it onto your bag. While the capacity is smaller than other battery packs on our list, Samsung says it will charge your devices 1.5 times faster than standard USB options. This charger also gets dinged a little for charging over microUSB instead of USB-C, but at least it comes for one for charging.

Go wireless

Mophie Powerstation Wireless External Battery Charger

Mophie is known for its battery cases, but it’s also recognized the value of a battery booster that you don’t have to keep stuck to your phone at all times. This 10,000mAh battery also gets dinged for still using Micro-USB instead of USB-C, but this name-brand battery pack will easily charge your S10 wirelessly or wired, if you’re prone to forgetting your cables like me!

Power Delivery power banks are awesome to have, and while 18W Power Delivery isn’t the fastest around, it’ll charge the Galaxy S10 at top speed and recharge the power bank when you plug it into the wall quite quickly, enabling you keep the battery full and fresh during long days and longer nights. This portable bank also comes with a two-year warranty, should your ranbunctious life wreck havoc on your power bank.

Keep your options open

There are a few things to consider when choosing a power bank, but the top three need to be reliability, size, and speed. All of the banks we’ve chosen here are from brands that we know, use, and trust, so that when your S10’s battery is low, you can trust that it won’t die on you because a power bank decided to kick the bucket.

In regards to size, I feel that the best power bank is the one you have on you, making pocketable power banks easier to carry — and easier on the wallet to buy —- and with the folding AC prongs and all the cables you could need, the PowerCell 6010+ is a portable battery that is truly portable and can recharge the Galaxy S10 from empty to full almost twice. This jack-of-all trades can even double as a wall charger if you find an empty plug in the airport lounge.

If you prefer your chargers bigger and beefier, the Anker PowerCore+ is an expensive but very useful starter pack if you don’t have much in the way of USB-C accessories. Since it comes with a powerful power bank, a C-to-C cable, and a 30W wall charger, it can be a great spare wall charger to keep in your office or backpack in addition to giving you a power bank that will keep an S10 powered for literal days.
