Rather than try to develop their own proprietary software like LG and Samsung do with their smart TVs, Philips has decided to go the route with more customers by allowing Android to control the smart features like gaming and voice-control. All of the 2015 Philips TV range in 2015 will run Android L. Having Android L on your TV means better integration for your Android devices, more app availability, and more updates to keep your TVs current.
