Verizon will not be cutting off two-year contracts for existing customers

Share

Verizon-Wireless-logo-7893When Verizon introduced their newer wireless plans, there was some confusion on the state of the carrier’s two-year contracts. Now that the plans have been available for a few weeks, the carrier has posted some new info clarifying the specifics of the plan, including that existing customers can still get two-year contracts and contract pricing, just like they’ve always done.

The biggest takeaway here is that Verizon won’t be forcing any existing customers onto the new plan, and existing customers are more than welcome to keep renewing their contracts to buy new devices. It doesn’t appear that Verizon will be getting rid of these contracts anytime soon, so if you’re just not a fan of financing devices, you won’t need to change. You obviously won’t get any of the line discounts that are on Verizon’s newer plans, but depending on the device, that might end up being a little cheaper.

Really, all of this info just looks like Verizon is trying to keep their existing customers happy. If you don’t want to change anything, you don’t have to. New customers don’t get that leniency, but it’s nice to see Verizon not force old customers onto new plans, especially those unlimited data customers.
