Motorola is rolling out a new maintenance update to fix an emergency dialing bug for the first and second-gen Moto X, Nexus 6, Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx/Turbo, Droid Ultra, and Moto X Pro.

The bug this update fixes only happens in rare situations, such as having an encrypted phone with “PIN to start” enabled. When you power on the phone and use the emergency dialer shortcut, you will be able to hear the dispatcher, but the dispatcher cannot hear you, Motorola says.

The bug mainly happens when you go straight for the emergency dialer shortcut upon startup. In most cases, the problem can be avoided by keeping your smartphone powered on. When the phone is fully powered on, the issue is avoided, Motorola says. If your phone isn’t powered on, and you have PIN-to-start enabled, simply entering the PIN and waiting for the phone to finish booting up will avoid the issue.

The update should be coming your way soon, if it hasn’t already. Have you experienced this problem? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
