The Glide for Android app has a refreshed look and some new features, but this is still the same Glide that more than fifteen million people have come to know and love. The app has been visually overhauled to match Google’s Material Design vision with Lollipop. The Glide team implemented plenty of color and animations throughout the app On the features side, Glide now supports offline video recording. Rather than requiring an internet connection to get anything done, Glide allows users to record at any time and send when a connection returns.

Other new features include full screen previews in threads and large-sized emojis.

Adam Korbl, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of Glide, commented on Glide for Android’s update:

“The new, fresh design of Glide for Android, when combined with tablet support and the other features we’ve added, makes the app even more delightful to use.”

I have been using the latest version of Glide for the past two days and find it to be beautiful. We are seeing more apps transition to Material Design over time and, clearly, that’s great as it makes the entire Android experience feel whole. Also, regarding functionality, I love the offline video recording. The same kind of feature now exists with Facebook. It makes everything seamless by allowing content to be queued with the absence of an internet connection.
