One of the key features of the new S6  and S6 Edge is Samsung‘s take on mobile payments — Samsung Pay. The new mobile payment service will kick off this summer in both the US and Korea and is partnered with both Mastercard and Visa. Through NFC and a new proprietary tech called Magnetic Secure Transmission, Samsung says Samsung Pay will make mobile payments more accessible.

Samsung has also partnered with  American Express, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan Chase, and U.S. Bank to offer a simple and secure experience for everyone. Not only that but the mobile service has the ability to be accepted at approximately 30 million merchant locations.

With the Samsung Pay app and the built in fingerprint scanner on the S6 and S6 Edge, Pay chooses the desired payment card then with a tap of NFC or MST, your payment is processed. According to Samsung, your card and payment information is securely stored thanks to Samsung KNOX and ARM TrustZone and the data isn’t stored on the the device.

Samsung plans to expand the service into both Europe and China, but that said, there’s not a known time table for it. We’ll update you when we know more.
