It seems like Android TV will not go in the way Google TV. Even though the launch has not been very smooth due to one device being on the market, things are looking up in 2015. Companies are realizing that Android TV is capable and, thus, adds value for consumers. Philips announced today that all televisions it releases this year will run Android TV. Both Full HD and 4K Ultra HD televisions will have the platform connected with access to Google Play and Philips-made software. Philips believes that developers are going to see the true potential in connected televisions and take advantage of the SDK’s similarities to mobile.
