ZTE Star 2

Chinese manufacturer ZTE is quite active in its home region, although it barely makes noise elsewhere. And now, we’re getting a glimpse of the company’s latest offering, bearing a flagship level hardware. Known as the Star 2, the smartphone could remain an exclusive to the region, at least initially.

The Star 2 is expected to be packing a 5.5 inch 1080p display, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad core SoC, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with ZTE’s custom UI implementation. The handset is shown to be packing a 13-megapixel camera on the back with what appears to be a second sensor for Laser autofocus, much like what we saw on the LG G3. There’s also a 5-megapixel front camera on the device.

Reports suggest that the smartphone will cost 1999 CNY in China during launch which is roughly around $323. This appears to be a very aggressive price tag for a smartphone such as this. We’ll keep an eye out for more information on the ZTE Star 2.
